@EliasToufexis It's a very good film and I think people are so confident in their personal subjective distaste because they've circlejerked about it for years. The people who liked the film just aren't going to waste TOO MUCH time talking about it.

I’m glad to see so many defenders of The Last Jedi suddenly coming out of the woodwork. I think that, outside of the Andor/Rogue One story, it’s the best Star Wars since Empire.

@messsolitude I get the vibe the film is intentionally depicting men underestimating her. In spite of these doubts, she achieves a great deal and exceeds expectations. This makes the characters potentially misogynistic but not so much the filmmakers.

As I rewatch the SW sequels more, especially The Force Awakens, the more I notice the slight bit of misogyny in some of the male characters in regards to Rey. For example, both Finn and Han show disbelief when Rey tells them she's a pilot. WHY the disbelief????

@maditano I wish they didn't tone down the glow of his eyes and didn't make his teeth so cleanly white. I hate that Rebels gave him just normal clean white teeth, and it seems Maul Shadow Lord follows that for some reason.

What’s going to be interesting is seeing just what Maul goes through that ultimately breaks him down to that guy with nothing left, physically or morally. Maul seems to want to prevent Sidious from hurting others, which is compassion. I assume it won’t work out for him.

@foerster_bryan @MaceAhWindu I think they’re leading up to him losing everything and his plan for killing Sidious fail and at that point his psyche will be in ruin and that will lead him to cling to the only thing he could possibly do which is killing Kenobi, enter rebels maul. Revenge is all he has left.

Every single episode just makes this scene ever sadder. Obi Wan could feel his pain and it was probably the only time anyone ever held Maul. And it’s his biggest rival.

@LuciaLobosvilla It’s bad, yeah. I’d like to make it clear that I really did not like this movie, even after enjoying 7 and 8. I just like to point out that the emotional vitriol people have for this line goes beyond the one scene, and extends into the much bigger problem it symbolizes.

All of you running defense for this line of dialogue are lying to yourselves harder than Vader. You know perfectly well that if you turned on the news and some military dude was rolling his eyes and sighing dramatically all “Somehow, Hitler returned” we’d all be DRAGGING him!
