NOLA head coach Sean Payton, an Eastern Illinois alum like Romo, was the Dallas assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach for multiple seasons, coaching Tony. If New Orleans traded for Romo, they would not have signed future Hall of Famer Drew Brees… and the league would look completely different. Romo struggled immensely in the playoffs, and who knows if New Orleans would have won the 2009 Super Bowl. Brees would have likely signed elsewhere and begun his Hall of Fame career. Just imagine this trade went through 😱
