If wage theft is going on at one of these companies, it’s because some lower level boss is breaking an already established corporate rule * If you actually look into a lot of the big lawsuits, it’ll be something like, “the company made employees change into their uniform in the break room before clocking in.” Even if a technical violation, the idea that this is some kind of moral outrage, that you have been made a literal slave by these actions, is I think just obviously very silly * If you let big companies get away with stuff like this, then, sure, I think you’d probably see all kinds of stuff that’s worse for employees, so if you want to have these rules and to see them enforced and to occasionally drop a big judgment on a large company as a warning to everybody else, then I’m not really losing any sleep over that, either. * No one category of “wage theft” violation comes anywhere close to having the economic impact of shoplifting, and even in aggregate, even the most generous estimates of the impact of all such violations put the costs at less than half that of shoplifting. It’s just simply not true that wage theft as a category is more impactful. Claims to that effect are either the result of genuine confusion or at least in some case cases outright lies.

@getoutofjp Abuse in legal terms is violence, it’s why child abuse and child neglect are different charges. Abuse material encompasses all physical acts of SA while Exploitation Material refers to any material involving a child used in sexually exploiting ways, like grooming

I’ll never understand getting DMs like this. 1: we don’t cast for vets. It’s not a thing.
