Small caps changed a lot. In the early days it was pro traders vs. newbies, and the game was simple. We all knew how beginners traded—we’d been there ourselves—and we just played the other side.
Then the algos showed up. Suddenly it wasn’t pros vs. rookies anymore, it was algos hunting elite traders with real size. The guy with 300 shares didn’t matter. The whole game got tougher.
Now it feels like we’re moving into algo vs. algo. And the rest of us? We’re just left choosing which side to stand on.
