In mid-December last year, I saw an opportunity to create a flagship experience for the first Solana gaming console, and that decision led me to this moment!!! I am excited to share that I just submitted Vortiq to the @playsolana Matrix Hackathon.
Vortiq is a Web3 asteroid shooter built on Solana, a fast-paced arcade game where your wallet is your identity, your tokens are your power-ups, and your scores are recorded on-chain.
The Game Destroy incoming asteroids before they destroy you. Waves get faster and bigger the longer you survive. You get 3 lives, real-time scoring, and 4 activatable power-ups mid-game: Shield, Multi-Bullet, Freeze Time, and Full Lives, none of which are free. You buy them in-game with $PLAY(@playsolana native token).

This was one of the most challenging and rewarding builds I've done, integrating real on-chain mechanics, wallet-native transactions, and a DEX swap all inside a live game. Every crash, every bug, every breakthrough was worth it.
