@AlexBerenson Baltimore has the best Shock Trauma hospital in the World, hands down. Their save rate is much greater than 90%. Instead of murder rates perhaps murder + attempted murder would be a better data set.

I'd like to believe this, but Philly - 100 miles from Baltimore, basically the same town but bigger - has an awful progressive prosecutor and murders have fallen EVEN FASTER there - over 75% since 2021. This is great. It would be even better if we knew why it was happening.
Austin Justice@AustinJustice

"Blue cities are radical hellscapes that can't fix crime." Counterpoint: Baltimore. Baltimore had 334 murders in 2022. Last year it had 133, the lowest since 1977. The turning point was that voters defenestrated a Soros-backed prosecutor Marilyn Mosby who averaged 333 homicides a year across eight years and declined to use mandatory minimum sentences. (She was later convicted of mortgage fraud, so there's that too.) Her replacement, Ivan Bates, ran on the Democratic ticket with a simple message: repeat violent offenders belong in prison. Maryland law already allowed five years with no parole for convicted felons caught carrying a gun, but Mosby never used it. Bates used it a lot. In just two years, his office sent more than 2K repeat violent offenders to prison, double his predecessor's TOTAL. The city paired that with a precision intervention program that identified the small number of people driving most of the violence, which led to 631 arrests (94% haven't reoffended). Police also seized 2,480 firearms last year alone, including hundreds of ghost guns, while maintaining a 64% homicide clearance rate. When shooters know they'll get caught and actually prosecuted, behavior changes. Sandtown-Winchester, once the most violent neighborhoods in the city, just went a year without a killing! Carjackings (-51%) and robberies (-24%) are also down. Baltimore didn't change demographics, or its culture, its rules, or much of anything else in those years. It simply voted in a new Democratic prosecutor, who decided the city needed to finally put violent criminals in prison.

@LeaderJohnThune @BillMelugin_ Let’s summarize your failed leadership instead. Why don’t we have the Save America Act yet? Why did you sneak out of town in the middle of the night after you pulled a fast one on America? You should be ashamed of yourself and step down. You are a failure.

Let’s summarize where we are after a 40+ day Democrat shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. 1) ICE and CBP are funded, thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts and the foresight of President Trump and Republicans in Congress. 2) After holding DHS and the American people hostage for over 40 days, Dems got ZERO restrictions that would prevent ICE and CBP agents from doing their jobs safely. 3) Due to Dem obstruction of the appropriations process, ICE and CBP will get even more funding through budget reconciliation. 4) Dems have once again established themselves as the “Open Borders, Defund the Police” party heading into an election. 5) Dem leadership has proven once again they can’t be trusted to make a deal. Which begs the question if you’re a Dem senator or one of their left-wing supporters: What was this really all about?

Virginia’s redistricting referendum gives voters the power to respond. To a President who says he’s “entitled” to more GOP seats in Congress before Americans vote in the midterms. To efforts in other states to give those seats to him. Join me in voting YES by April 21.

I voted NO because the SAVE Act would make it harder for law-abiding American citizens to vote, especially married women, seniors, and Americans in rural areas. We need to make sure our elections are safe and secure. That doesn’t mean we should prevent Americans from exercising their Constitutional right to vote.

Do you have a passport? Do you know where your birth certificate is? If the answer to both is no, then you cannot vote under the SAVE Act. The SAVE Act is NOT a voter ID bill. It’s a voter suppression bill.

The death of Alex Pretti was a tragedy, and there should be a full and impartial investigation into his shooting. I am glad that @POTUS has sent Tom Homan to Minnesota, and I hope that his arrival will help turn down the temperature and restore order.

CHART OF THE DAY: Virginia’s Employment Commission was once ranked last or near-last in the nation — broken systems, delayed payments, and failing Virginians. Today: a complete turnaround. • Top tier among peer states with similar workforce sizes • #1 among peer states in Determinations Timeliness • #2 in Determinations vs. neighboring states • #3 among peer states in First Payment Timeliness • Outperforming states like PA, NC, and MD • Backlog completely eliminated! We promised to fix the VEC and make this critical agency work for Virginians. Thank you to Secretary Bryan Slater, our two outstanding commissioners, Carrie Roth and Mitch Melis, and their entire teams for their tireless effort.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸
President Trump just attacked me and lied about me. I haven’t called him at all, but I did send these text messages today. Apparently this is what sent him over the edge. The Epstein files. And of course he’s coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files. It’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level. But really most Americans wish he would fight this hard to help the forgotten men and women of America who are fed up with foreign wars and foreign causes, are going broke trying to feed their families, and are losing hope of ever achieving the American dream. That’s what I voted for. I have supported President Trump with too much of my precious time, too much of my own money, and fought harder for him even when almost all other Republicans turned their back and denounced him. But I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump. I worship God, Jesus is my savior, and I serve my district GA14 and the American people. I remain the same today as I’ve always been and I will continue to pray this administration will be successful because the American people desperately deserve what they voted for. For me, I remain America First and America Only!!! ❤️🇺🇸
