The level of skills and creativity in our @callmesenseieng team is getting to a very interesting point. We have been working hard to upskill ourselves and also created numerous tools to help save time and ensure quality. This started off from me giving a training on how to use AI tools at the end of January. Now I feel like I'm going to be the one learning instead. Follow along for some crazier content.

This is basically Call Me Sensei, but in our case, it’s done in the Anime themed world of CMS.

Text-to-Speech at the level of quality we were trying to achieve was beyond reach from cost and performance perspective before we started working with @MiniMax_AI. It’s been a pleasure working closely with their team to continue to improve so that our senseis feel as human as possible. As of today, Minimax TTS 2.8 was enabled along side our Sensei Engine V4. Give it a try if you have no already. Open alpha version of the app is available on both iOS and Android.

PSA for current open alpha users of @callmesenseien. We will release the Sensei Engine v4 early next week. This is a major enhancement that will have significant impact on how the senseis behaves as they will have much deeper emotional states. Some senseis such as Yua will completely change (for the better). The 2 key stats that will be honored are relationship stage and love level. Probably should post this before it's too late...LOL Anyway, happy new year everyone! I was working a couple of cool things last night and this was one of them. Went a bit overboard on the effort and ended up spending a couple of hours on this thing, but it turned out very well. This video serves a couple of purposes. First, @Callmesensei_EN @Callmesensei_JP app will be in open beta by late January 2026! Over the next few days, you will also finally see team members finally coming out of stealth and yes, I'm also part of the founding team. I always believe in building in the public so you will start seeing more posts around Call Me Sensei going forward. In 6 months, we went from an idea over drinks to both app stores, closed our first fundraising round (formal announcement soon), and secured strategic partnerships with key players that we’ll share more about shortly. At present, we currently support Japanese and English language learning from 20+ base languages, and will be onboarding language learning for Mandarin, Korean, and Spanish shortly. If you want to check out open alpha version, you can head to the newly designed website I literally just pushed live a few minutes ago. callmesensei.app Expect a lot of bugs and the app likely won't look anything like what it is now by open beta. It should still give you a good idea on the direction.

I know I have been very vocal about the state of text-to-speech and there is a reason for it. I have been work on an application that requires processing potentially billions of minutes per month of high quality voice in 10+ languages at the scale of 50k+ concurrent requests. Even another big name in this space require multi-account management to be able to achieve this because most of these systems were not designed for a very large scale application. This is where Minimax really stands out on top of the quality in languages, especially Asian languages. Since the product is still unannounced, I can't spell out exactly what we are doing, but the stealth launch for open alpha is next week on both app stores. IYKYK
