@jaygerland @APStylebook @MerriamWebster In Buffalo a Fish Fry is different than here. It confused me at first. In Pittsburgh area, a Fish Fry is an "event". You go to a fish fry to get fish (usually during lent). In Buffalo, the Fish Fry was the actual name of the dish you would get. "Order a fish fry".

According to @MerriamWebster, it's fish fry, two words with no hyphen, to refer to a picnic or supper featuring fried fish.
