@NotSoAngryScout I think the confusion is bc his phrase "real power". He doesn't mean "real power" within the teams' draft rooms, he means, genuine "predictive capability" regardless of who uses it or how.

Show it to me. We don’t have a consensus board in our war room. We have our team board. Are you referring to NFS and BLESTO? Those are 1 opinion of an entry level scout. They are not a consensus for us. There might be consensus media rankings but we don’t go by it.
Sam Monson@SamMonsonNFL

There IS a consensus board. It's been shown to have real power when you go against it by major reaches. Posts like this show an ignorance of the topic at hand. End of missive.

@KSIXI Gonna be very interesting to see if shifting the offense to run heavy will produce enough Ws to keep Nabers happy with -- what (presumably) -- will be less action for him.

The beauty of the Giants draft on offense is the commitment to an identity. Malachi Fields and Francis Mauigoa dovetail so beautifully with the rest of their offseason with bringing in Patrick Ricard, re-signing Jermaine Eluemenor and bringing in Greg Roman. The best defense is a time controlled offense that imposes themselves on you with the ground game. Commitment to 12 personnel and being multiple from that lineup. Short yardage will keep you guessing via the ground or the air (Malik/Theo/Likely/Fields is terrifying in goal2go). This is good team building!

@FittieSmalls Harbaugh also said his priority is stopping the run. The team now has maybe the worst iDL room in the NFL.

Giants have been lacking accountability since they lost Caughlin. I am tired of the complacency and perennial losers on this team. Harbaugh backs up his word and sends a clear message; You want to be about the team, you’re in. If you don’t, you’re out. Doesn’t matter who you are.

@nickfalato People are all saying it’s a great haul. The "potential bias" is running rampant. Weak draft class. No blue chip players at the premium positions in the top 10. No clear great iDL in the class. And it was already a position of weakness. All bc Mara won’t use void years. Terrible.

Lawrence is a stud. He will be missed. At least the Giants got 10. Makes the draft that much more interesting.
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter

Trade comp, via @JordanRaanan: the Bengals will receive DT Dexter Lawrence in exchange for Thursday night’s 10th overall pick, straight up. Lawrence still needs to pass his physical and finalize a contract with Cincinnati.

@Jack_Brentnall It's the "potential bias" is running rampant. On top of that, it's a weak draft class. No blue chip players at the premium positions in the top 10.

Lots of criticism for the Bengals "overpaying" for Lawrence with the No. 10 overall pick, but I think that collectively we overestimate our ability to evaluate prospects. The trade reminds me of the DeForrest Buckner trade in 2020. Colts traded No. 13 for Buckner and the 49ers took Javon Kinlaw. Plenty of people praised the 49ers for getting a younger, cheaper player in Kinlaw, but look how that turned out

Think of the Dexter deal this way: If you gave into his contract demands, which, let's go at the top end and say we give him a 2 year, $70M extension with $60M guaranteed and if we used void years/option bonuses as a smart team should, the fallout would probably be something like a $20M cap hit for each of the 2 years of his extension and 3 years of $8-10M in dead cap after the contract expires. Math probably a little off but it's in the ball park. In the long term, that is trivial, but what's done is done.

@BobbySkinner_ It’s a truly terrible result. Dex, even in a down year is one of the best at his position. A known quantity. A draft pick, even a high one, is a gamble. And this is a very weak draft class. So even more of a gamble. Now add to that iDL is already a weakness in weak iDL draft.

Idk exactly but a pick in the second half of this years draft would have been terrible. At 10, there’s going to be a handful of guys that I really like in any draft

@BobbySkinner_ Bobby what do you rate the capital return? Sauce was traded for two firsts is this not a below average return?

I would still trade down if I were the Giants. You just created another gigantic hole while still need to fill 5 others. Need more picks.

@rydunleavy Ryan, can you tell us who went to bat for Neal first: Was it Harb seeing something and then confirming with Bloomgren — or did Bloomgren see something and pitch it to Harb? Your article seems to suggest this was purely the HC, right?

#Giants and Evan Neal were destined for divorce … until John Harbaugh stepped in offering a clean slate and affinity for big guards. Most surprising re-signing in all of NFL free agency nypost.com/2026/03/11/spo…

Scorecard on a relatively uneventful, yet interesting, Day 3 of free agency for the Giants: Re-signed: • OL Evan Neal: 1 year, $1.2M • LB Zaire Barnes: 1 year, $1.15M Departures: • LS Casey Kreiter: TBA (Cardinals) • LB Chris Board: Cut

Didn't have Evan Neal returning on the 2026 Bingo card: Neal was given every chance to win the starting RG job last spring/summer. Lost out to GVR. Didn't dress for a single game in 2025. He was a healthy scratch for most of the season before landing on IR with a hamstring injury. Giants opened his practice window and he almost immediately had neck/back soreness. Never was activated. But ... John Harbaugh is in charge now. Fresh start.
Jordan Raanan@JordanRaanan

Evan Neal is returning to the Giants on a one-year deal, per source. Clean slate under John Harbaugh.

@win_n10 @Ourlads_Sy Right? I thought the knock against him when he played on the OL was he struggled with power and bull rushes? Seems like a serious flaw for someone working on the inside...

@Ourlads_Sy Not strong enough. He was getting bull rushed by 240lb edges. JMS isn’t good enough to consistently help out.

Here are some of the remaining OGs left on the market: -Joel Bitonio -Wyatt Teller -Kevin Zeitler -Greg Van Roten -Mekhi Becton Honestly, I don't know why Kevin Zeitler isn't a consideration. He's probably cheap, and he's the best player on this list.

More I’m thinking about Isaiah Likely the more I’m liking it, especially from a personnel standpoint. 12 personnel w/ him & Theo could actually turn into a number of different looks. Likely can go in-line, in the slot, in the backfield. They can go 4 wide too. Lot of possibilities
