@ThePoliEcon they want more, like some political power, in the veto position sort of. Classic "color revolution", through & through.

@reyter111 @baoshaoshan 😂 A bit harsh. But it was a quite win-win deal for US/China, let's be realistic here. And both sides payed huge cost: China becoming westernalized with all these crazy ideology, while US de-industrialize. Also, it's Soviet pushing China into against itself, let's be frank.

@baoshaoshan Didn't they "regain China" when Deng Xiaoping and his capitalist turncoats sided with Western powers and JAPAN against the Soviet Union?

The Americans have never gotten over “losing China.” This goes back to the 1950s when national angst broke out over the question: “who lost China?” Get over yourselves, it wasn’t yours to “lose.” Save your warmongering & attend to your own broken country.

@MonkFlowery @zaobaosg

#Echobox=1778410277" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">zaobao.com.sg/news/china/sto…

@WSJ 😂 China doesn't necessarily need to excel in every aspect; it just needs to outperform its opponents. But I still appreciate the work what WSJ has done for pushing China ahead. 😂

old enough to remember when this was literally, blatantly true no offense to current top tier Chinese students in Western universities, but I no longer get the impression they're qualitatively a cut above.

Vectors of Chinamaxxing #1 The most obvious is technocratic envy - Dang Wang’s thesis in Breakneck, that China is a society run by engineers, bent on “engineering the future”. #2 Then there is the shock of the encounter with Chinese reality on the part of visitors to China - whether those visits are stage managed by official tourist agencies, or not. #3 Another dimension of enthusiasm is retro-authenticity - street scenes from Beijing on Chongqing as reminders of a lost world of “down to earth” life. #4 There is a lot of interest in Chinese ways of wellness #5 The West has discovered that Chinese netizens have a great sense of humor. #6 Chinese popular culture is one of the great generators of the styles and paraphernalia of “cuteness”. #7 The erotic realm: recurring rumors of epidemics of “Yellow fever” sweeping the dating scene.
