A beautiful story - lost his job, asked Claude to analyze the top wallets on Polymarket, the bot did everything itself while the author slept
There are hundreds of stories like this in CT and they're all built from the same template
Here's how to spot them:
> Absurd numbers. 170x in one night across 94 trades. Quant funds with million-dollar budgets dream of that kind of edge. If it actually worked - nobody would be posting about it on Twitter
> Emotional hook. Lost his job, can't pay rent, girlfriend left. The story changes post to post but it's always about desperation and salvation through a bot. That's manipulation, not reality
> "Claude did everything itself". Claude is a chatbot. It helps you write code, but it doesn't deploy agents, read live news feeds, or execute trades on Polymarket by itself. That requires serious infrastructure - APIs, servers, wallets, risk controls
> Cyberpunk dashboard in the video. Green numbers on black background, scrolling logs, P&L that only goes up. That kind of interface is generated in Claude in 5 minutes to look convincing. Real trading dashboards don't look like that
> Link at the end. There's always a link. Paid Telegram, closed group, signals. The bot is just the hook to get you to click
> Same account posting every day. Different stories, same link. That's not a trader - that's marketing

Here's what you actually need to understand: > 99% of these stories are fake Trading terminal screenshots are AI-generated, there's no real trading behind them. Pretty profit charts, massive PnL numbers, complex code in the background - all of it takes five minutes to make. No real bot, no real trading. > The market is not static What worked a month ago may not work today. Liquidity shifts, patterns break, new players enter with faster infra and better models. A bot is not a product you build and forget - it's a living system that needs constant updates to match current conditions. > Everything breaks constantly APIs go down, liquidity vanishes without warning, markets resolve in unexpected ways, news drops at 3am. One unchecked edge case can erase weeks of slow gains. > Margins are thin A 1-3% edge sounds great on paper. In practice it means capital, discipline, infrastructure costs, and long stretches of boredom. Fees eat into returns.
