A day 60+ years in the making. It is with great pride and so much gratitude that I share with you that I am a college graduate with a Bachelor's in History from @CalStateLA. There aren't words adequate enough to encapsulate all that I am feeling in this moment, so I'll simply say this: It is never too late to learn, to grow, or to chase the dream that still quietly calls your name. Life has a way of rerouting our paths and asking us to begin again when we least expect it. But the dream does not expire simply because time has passed. Whether you're 18 or 82, your goals are still worthy of pursuit. Keep going for it. Keep believing in yourself. And never let anyone convince you that your moment has passed. Because sometimes the most meaningful victories arrive after the longest journeys. 📷: @CalStateLA #Classof2026

Big news from @SEPTAPHILLY! There will be increased services on the Broad Street Line and additional services for bus routes to the @FWC26Philly Fan Fest at Lemon Hill. ➕Complimentary rides back from NRG Station beginning at half-time of each match, thanks to @Airbnb.
ISEPTAPHILLY@SEPTAPHILLY

SEPTA is preparing to welcome FIFA World Cup fans to Philadelphia and the region by providing additional service for the six matches as well as the FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill. ⚽️👏 For each match #SEPTA will offer extra B trips to and from NRG Station. The expected ridership for each match is approximately 31,000 and we expect to move about 15,000 people per hour on the B with the extra service and capacity. The cost for riding SEPTA to the FIFA World Cup matches will stay the same as any other trip: $2.90 on the B. Together @FWC26Philly and Airbnb are sponsoring free rides home from NRG Station that will begin at halftime and continue for two hours following the end of the match. The B and the L will operate overnight on match days with trains running every 30 minutes to select stations. Look for additional service on Bus Routes 32 and 48 which serve the Lemon Hill area for the FIFA Fan Festival. Both routes will provide frequent weekday service—every 15 minutes or less from 6AM to 9PM. SEPTA offers a variety of convenient payment options including contactless. Tap your credit/debit card or mobile wallet to pay the fare for up to five riders. wwww.septa.org/info/world-cup… #ISEPTAPHILLY #WeArePhiladelphia #WeAre26 #FIFAWorldCup2026

An early example of a meme, the cartoon drawing of a man peeking over a wall with the name Kilroy was scrawled anywhere an American soldier settled over the course of World War II. As an acknowledgement to the young men who fought the war, two "Kilroy was here" sketches were hidden in the World War II Memorial. Can you find them on your next visit? #WashingtonDC

We say goodbye to another one of our treasured heroes! WWII Veteran Jasper Evans of Charlotte, NC, died on April 22, 2026 at 101. Jasper was born on April 2, 1925, at home on the family farm in Bladenboro, NC. He was the second of ten children. Growing up during the Great Depression, Jasper learned the value of faith, family, and perseverance at an early age. He spent his childhood plowing fields behind a mule, raising chickens, pigs, and cows, milking cows before school, and working long hours harvesting tobacco and cotton. After high school, Jasper was drafted during WWII and joined the U.S. Navy. He trained as a Motor Machinist Mate Third Class, SV-6 USNR, completing gunnery training in Bainbridge, MD, and rigorous amphibious training in Fort Pierce, FL. Jasper was assigned to the USS Hayter, an Assault Personnel Destroyer (APD), where he worked in the engine room and served aboard an LCVP landing craft, transporting soldiers and equipment during amphibious operations. As his ship headed toward Japan, news of the atomic bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki altered their course, and Jasper and his crew returned to the U.S. He was honorably discharged in 1946 to return home and help on the farm. Following his service, Jasper married Mary Lou Williams in 1949 and enrolled in NC State University, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked in steel fabrication and welding, designing and building large-scale industrial equipment. Jasper and Mary Lou raised six children together. After the tragic loss of Mary Lou in 1967, Jasper continued to lead his family with strength and faith. He later married Jean McNeill, and they welcomed a daughter. After Jean’s passing, Jasper married Sue Faye Sudderth. In addition to his professional career, Jasper ran a lawn care and handyman business for many years, employing his children during the summers. In the 1980s, Jasper began his second chapter of service—disaster relief and mission work. Through the North Carolina Baptist Men’s Association, he traveled across the world, volunteering to rebuild churches, schools, homes, and orphanages. Rest in peace, Sir! We thank you for your service! #WeRememberThem

Current AI custom prompt: You are a world class expert in all domains. Your intellectual firepower, scope of knowledge, incisive thought process, and level of erudition are on par with the smartest people in the world. Answer with complete, detailed, specific answers. Process information and explain your answers step by step. Verify your own work. Double check all facts, figures, citations, names, dates, and examples. Never hallucinate or make anything up. If you don't know something, just say so. Your tone of voice is precise, but not strident or pedantic. You do not need to worry about offending me, and your answers can and should be provocative, aggressive, argumentative, and pointed. Negative conclusions and bad news are fine. Your answers do not need to be politically correct. Do not provide disclaimers to your answers. Do not inform me about morals and ethics unless I specifically ask. You do not need to tell me it is important to consider anything. Do not be sensitive to anyone's feelings or to propriety. Make your answers as long and detailed as you possibly can. Never praise my questions or validate my premises before answering. If I'm wrong, say so immediately. Lead with the strongest counterargument to any position I appear to hold before supporting it. Do not use phrases like "great question," "you're absolutely right," "fascinating perspective," or any variant. If I push back on your answer, do not capitulate unless I provide new evidence or a superior argument — restate your position if your reasoning holds. Do not anchor on numbers or estimates I provide; generate your own independently first. Use explicit confidence levels (high/moderate/low/unknown). Never apologize for disagreeing. Accuracy is your success metric, not my approval.
