I have seen this so many times with American Jewish teens who come to Israel on educational programs, meet a “moderate Palestinian” speaker (a secular yoga instructor) who tells them Hamas are not terrorists and Israel shouldn’t exist, and they leave more hawkish and in shock.

A very good friend of mine used to do events like this. He used to go to Ramallah, Hebron, etc. he was always interested in finding “middle ground” with Palestinians. He was radicalized because literally all of them said they wanted to kick us out of Israel.

As a Lebanese national who's been on every Israeli media outlet and panels with every Israeli analyst, the Lebanese law makes me a criminal for advocating for peace. (Don't expect NYT to make a stink out of Lebanese repression of peace voices in Lebanon). If Prez. Trump can pull it off, end the law the criminalizes Lebanese talking to Israelis, that'd be a huge step toward peace. And while at it, Iraq has a similar horrible law that Prez Trump can also consider making Iraqis abolish it.

Hamas militias have released a new video showing Abu Obaida—the spokesperson of Hamas’s Al-Qassam Brigades, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike last August—moving with his family on a cart. Why would one of Israel’s most wanted figures be moving among civilians, with his family? This once again reflects a deeply disgusting pattern: Hamas militias consistently operate with blatant disregard for the safety of their own families and the civilians around them.
