Mississippi is mourning the loss of Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Jimerson who was killed in the line of duty last night. Deputy Jimerson was a hero who bravely sacrificed his life while protecting and serving others.  Our entire state is praying for Deputy Jimerson’s family, friends, and everyone at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. We will never forget him.

If President Trump attends the Supreme Court's oral arguments tomorrow on his birthright citizenship executive order like he says he will, he would be the first sitting president on record to do so. Presidents have avoided attendance in part to honor the separation of powers.
