🚨 Serious Issue with HDFC Bank 🚨 My father is a retired government primary school teacher (retired in 2005). He had invested his retirement savings in a fixed deposit with HDFC Bank. He is now 78 years old and, due to limited familiarity with mobile technology, he primarily relies on his checkbook for banking transactions. With the increasing shift toward digital banking and OTP-based transactions, a few months ago an HDFC Bank (Shahada, Maharashtra Branch) employee offered to help him set up mobile banking and OTP services. Trusting the bank staff, my father handed over his phone. Unfortunately, the employee misused this trust and fraudulently transferred ₹11.3 lakhs to his relative’s account, while also deleting OTP messages from my father’s phone to conceal the activity. This incident has been reported to the police, and it has also been covered in local newspapers. Despite reaching out to HDFC Bank, we have not received adequate support. The bank has stated that the transactions were OTP-authenticated, but this ignores the fact that the fraud was allegedly committed by their own employee. My father is under immense stress, as this money represents his lifetime savings. We strongly request HDFC Bank management to take immediate action, investigate this matter thoroughly, and ensure full recovery of the funds. If this issue is not resolved promptly, we will be compelled to escalate the matter further to higher authorities, including regulatory bodies and the Government of India. @HDFC_Bank @HomeLoansByHDFC @HDFCBank_Cares @RBI @SBICard_Connect @PMOIndia @CMOMaharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis @mieknathshinde @MumbaiPolice
