If you start early and invest in index funds you should be able to get to $1-$2M through compounding over years.. If you want to reach greater than $2M you need to put in the work, do the research and keep a concentrated stock portfolio of 10-20 names.

@MarkMcGrathCFP Yes very ambitious half serious take. But with the upcoming higher productivity and mass misinformation, there's a huge edge to build a system that outperforms the market. Historical examples from the "truth" edge: $MU, $WDC, $STX, $BE.

@MarkMcGrathCFP Outperforming the index shouldn't be the goal anymore. It's to outperform the medallion fund with at least 60% annual returns. Yes it's higher risk and volatility but it averages out to double digit returns every year. $XEQT is like a savings account now because inflation is 10%.

@MarkMcGrathCFP Yeah that's true. But it allows people who know the architecture to build it. You can't vibe code your way to a bloomberg terminal, you need domain expertise to guide claude code. But it's very doable to build a system that outperforms hedge funds. I'm not the only one.
