We have little concept of time. The internet only became widely used 30 years ago, man first set foot on the moon 55 years ago, WW1 began 110 years ago, Henry VIII reigned 500 years ago, the Roman empire ended 1500 years ago, Jesus is believed to have lived 2000 years ago. Two weeks ago the Earth had its hottest two days in recorded history, likely in 100,000 years. Carbon dioxide levels which affect the temperature of the planet are higher now than they have been in 3 - 5 million years. @RobGMacfarlane With 50% of the population not able to define biodiversity I think an explanation would be useful. Maybe something around the ‘ruler’ used in our imagination not being calibrated to go further back than childhood memories.
