Your smart TV is taking screenshots of your screen every 15 seconds. Not a guess. Not a theory. A peer-reviewed study by researchers at UC Davis, UCL, and UC3M tested it. Samsung TVs: every minute. LG TVs: every 15 seconds. Even when you're just using it as a monitor. Here's how to turn it off for every brand:

New Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar finally appeared as a guest on state television M1 for the first time ever. Here’s what he told the journalist. “We will suspend this channel's news service. This isn't about me; I'm not seeking revenge. Our people deserve journalism that reflects the truth.” “We will nationalize the assets given to businesspeople and foundations during the Orbán era.” “The Mathias Corvinus Collegium Foundation, close to Orbán, was transferred 10% of MOL (oil company) and Gedeon Richter (pharmaceutical company) for free. We will take back these shares.” “After 16 years of the Orbán era, 400,000 Hungarian children in this country are living in deep poverty.” “President Sulyok is no longer the president of this country in my eyes or in the eyes of the people.” (In response to the host asking about his meeting with Zelensky as a counterpoint) “I get your joke, and I even like it. But your references no longer carry any meaning.” “According to you, Germany has collapsed, there's no internet there, people aren't even having sex. The Hungarian people were laughing at you.” “It was said on this channel that even my young children won't talk to me, when in fact my children live with me.” (When the host interrupted him) “No host in this studio ever dared to interrupt Hungary's most corrupt and most lying prime minister.” (When asked about the legal basis for closing the news service) “For someone on this channel to accuse me of breaking the law looks like a thief accusing the police.”

The CEO of Krafton (creator of PUBG) asked ChatGPT to create a "corporate takeover strategy" to prevent a company they acquired from hitting a revenue target within a certain time window (which would trigger an additional payout). ChatGPT (against his lawyer's advice) suggested locking down the acquired companies Steam account to prevent them from publishing Subnautica 2 in the time window, which the CEO of Krafton followed. ChatGPT's advice did not hold up at trial and the judge was not happy. The opinion is a wild read and includes several direct quotes from the Krafton CEO's ChatGPT conversation. I feel like it's gonna take a few more high profile examples like this until executives start realizing that conversations with ChatGPT are not privileged and you probably shouldn't describe your questionably legal schemes to them in detail!

The Kyoto Aquarium in Japan keeps a wall-sized flowchart tracking the romantic relationships, breakups, and drama between their penguins. They update it every year. Red hearts mean couples. Blue broken hearts mean it’s over. Purple lines with question marks mean it’s complicated. Yellow means friendship. Green means enemies. One female penguin reportedly ended six relationships in a single year. The comment under her photo, translated from Japanese, described her as “basically demonic.” Another penguin was caught dating someone 17 years older who also turned out to be their great aunt. And penguins who get broken up with sometimes refuse to eat. Apparently the staff say wing-flapping means flirting, grooming each other means it’s official, and if a penguin steals another penguin’s egg… well, it’s exactly what it looks like.

The company behind this pill has raised $250 million and is running the largest clinical trial in veterinary history, and the science explains why investors are losing their minds. The drug is LOY-002, made by a company called Loyal. It works as a caloric restriction mimetic. It tricks the dog's metabolism into behaving like it's on a restricted diet without actually reducing food intake. The biological cascade this triggers is the same one that's extended lifespan in every species ever tested, from yeast to primates. The FDA has already accepted the safety data and the effectiveness data. Two of three regulatory gates cleared. The third is manufacturing review, expected to complete this year. If approved, LOY-002 becomes the first FDA-approved drug for lifespan extension in any species. Not disease treatment. Not symptom management. Lifespan extension as a formal indication. The STAY study has 1,300 dogs enrolled across 70 vet clinics. Half get the pill, half get placebo. Both beef-flavored so nobody can tell the difference. It is the largest clinical trial ever conducted in veterinary medicine. Here's where it gets interesting for humans. Dogs develop the same age-related diseases we do: cancer, heart disease, kidney failure, cognitive decline resembling dementia. They live in our houses, eat similar food, breathe the same air. A mouse in a sterile lab tells you almost nothing about human aging. A golden retriever sleeping on your couch tells you a lot. Loyal has a second drug, LOY-001, targeting large breeds specifically. Big dogs die younger because centuries of breeding for size accidentally gave them elevated IGF-1 levels, which is the same growth hormone pathway linked to accelerated aging in humans. Reducing IGF-1 in flies, worms, and rodents extends lifespan. Loyal is now testing whether the same holds in dogs. 90 million pet dogs in 60 million US households. Average spending: $1,852 per pet per year. A pill that gives you two more years with your dog is the easiest sell in pharmaceutical history. Human longevity trials would cost $1 billion+ and take decades. Dog trials cost a fraction and produce data in years. Every dog in the STAY study is generating aging data that maps to human biology. The shortest path to an FDA-approved human longevity drug might run through your veterinarian's office.
Pubity@pubity

Scientists have developed a pill that can extend the lifespan of dogs by literal years, and they're pushing to get it on the market by 2027. It's a daily, beef-flavored medication made specifically for senior dogs to keep them healthy as they age.

The math Italy just handed Netflix is terrifying for every subscription company on Earth. 5.4 million Italian subscribers. Up to €500 per Premium user, €250 per Standard user. Netflix launched in Italy at €11.99/month in 2015 and hiked four times to €19.99 by 2024. The court said every single increase was illegal because the contract never stated a justified reason for any of them. The total refund exposure is somewhere in the hundreds of millions of euros. For a single country with ~2% of Netflix's 325 million global subscribers. Here's what nobody is pricing in: Germany and Spain have already filed identical challenges using the same EU Directive from 1993. Berlin and Cologne courts already ruled that generic price-change clauses are void. Italy just gave every consumer group in Europe a finished legal template. Netflix hiked prices globally on March 26. Six days later, this ruling dropped. The company is now simultaneously raising prices worldwide while a court in its fourth-largest European market ordered it to roll prices back to 2015 levels. The real exposure here isn't Italy. Netflix can absorb hundreds of millions. The real exposure is the legal principle: telling customers "we're raising your price, you can cancel if you don't like it" is not consent under EU law. That logic applies to every subscription service operating in Europe. Every SaaS company. Every streaming platform. Every telecom. The freedom to cancel is not the freedom to agree. That one sentence just repriced the entire European subscription economy.
Pubity@pubity

Italy has declared that Netflix's recent price hikes from 2017 to 2024 were illegal and enacted without proper warning for customers. Netflix not only has to reduce its price in Italy, but pay customers back every cent they overpaid.

This is Wild. Deutsche Bank has developed an index that helps to predict the next TACO by Trump. It has proven effective in previous big Trump pivots. I hope no one needs an MRI this year. The world's largest producer of liquified helium is in Qatar and is shut off. We just got a notice that our supply for the year will be at least cut in half. No one could have predicted this (unless they thought about it).

The air traffic controller cleared the fire truck onto the runway. Seconds later, the same controller screamed “stop, stop, stop.” The plane was doing 93 to 105 mph. Both pilots are dead. Everyone will frame this as controller error. One controller was simultaneously managing a United flight that aborted takeoff after an anti-ice warning, dispatching a fire truck across an active runway, and sequencing an inbound Air Canada landing at highway speed. At 11:40 PM. On a mandatory overtime shift at a facility that has been understaffed for years. A system that assigns one person that workload will produce exactly this outcome. The only variable is when. The FAA is short approximately 3,000 controllers. The headcount dropped 13% from 2010 to 2024 while flight volume rose 10%. Over 40% of the FAA’s 290 terminal facilities are understaffed. The New York TRACON, which manages the most congested airspace in America across LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark, has been chronically below target. Newark was operating at 59% of its staffing goal. LaGuardia handles 900 flights a day. The hiring pipeline is broken at every stage. Only 2% of applicants complete the full process. Training takes up to 6 years. The FAA Academy in Oklahoma City is a bottleneck, with roughly 35% of trainees washing out. Congress blocked legislation to build a second academy. In one recent hiring cycle, the FAA brought on 1,512 candidates and lost 1,300 in the same window. Net gain: around 160 controllers for an entire country. Three things need to happen and everyone who can make them happen has known for years. Congress needs to fund and authorize a second FAA training academy. One facility in Oklahoma City cannot produce enough controllers for 900 million annual passengers. Members of Congress from Oklahoma have actively blocked this. That needs to end yesterday. The FAA needs to cut certification time. Six years from application to fully certified controller is absurd. The agency’s own data shows tower simulators reduce certification time by 27%. They’ve installed them at 95 facilities. That should be every facility, and the simulated hours should count toward more of the certification requirement. The FAA needs to stop plugging staffing gaps with mandatory overtime. Controllers at understaffed facilities are working six-day weeks rotating between morning, mid, and night shifts. The NTSB has flagged fatigue repeatedly. The controller last night was managing overlapping emergencies during a nighttime operation. Overtime is not a staffing plan. It’s a countdown to the next runway collision. The controller said “I messed up” to a Frontier pilot who watched the whole thing. The pilot responded “No man, you did the best you could.” One of them is right. The answer determines whether this happens again.

🚨Someone just open sourced a computer that works when the entire internet goes down. It's called Project N.O.M.A.D. A self-contained offline survival server with AI, Wikipedia, maps, medical references, and full education courses. No internet. No cloud. No subscription. It just works. Here's what's packed inside: → A local AI assistant powered by Ollama (works fully offline) → All of Wikipedia, downloadable and searchable → Offline maps of any region you choose → Medical references and survival guides → Full Khan Academy courses with progress tracking → Encryption and data analysis tools via CyberChef → Document upload with semantic search (local RAG) Here's the wildest part: A solar panel, a battery, a mini PC, and a WiFi access point. That's it. That's your entire off-grid knowledge station. 15 to 65 watts of power. Works from a cabin, an RV, a sailboat, or a bunker. Companies sell "prepper drives" with static PDFs for $185. This gives you a full AI brain, an entire encyclopedia, and real courses for free. One command to install. 100% Open Source. Apache 2.0 License.

Enkelen zullen zware amputaties moeten ondergaan. Sinds 2015 vaccineert men zuigelingen tegen MenB in het VK. Deze studenten waren dus niet gevaccineerd. In België vaccineren we zelfs nog geen zuigelingen met het MenB vaccin. Onze overheid zou best deze vaccinatie ook bij ons invoeren. nytimes.com/2026/03/18/wor…

Houthis I don’t think it will be long before the Houthis announce the closure of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. For an operation of this scale, they must have been planning it over the last few weeks, stockpiling anti-ship missiles, anti-aircraft systems, and various types of drones. It’s not just about closing the strait, but about being able to sustain that blockade against a naval task force that will certainly be deployed in response. As we had already predicted, missile launches from Iran haven’t stopped, and those from Yemen are unlikely to stop if a blockade is put in place. With two major straits closed, the war would escalate dramatically. This also raises questions about why Iran hasn’t closed the Bab el-Mandeb until now. Iran’s war strategy seems to follow several distinct stages. The first was to suppress fire from American bases in the Gulf countries and launch counterstrikes against Israel. The second focused on targeting radars, creating a missile corridor to Israel and toward a Saudi air base, while a counter-drone operation was launched to reduce surveillance over the territory. The third stage, it seems to me, focuses heavily on the economic aspect, further suffocating the Gulf countries by targeting their financial and corporate systems, which Iran views as U.S. partners in attacks against its territory. In this regard, only Saudi Arabia is currently exporting through the Red Sea around 50-60% of its oil capacity. In a scenario where much of Iran’s objective already seems fulfilled, this puts the Gulf countries in a position to put intense pressure on Trump to force an end to the war. However, the fact that Saudi Arabia is still exporting through the Red Sea lessens the Iranian pressure on oil prices. It is therefore very likely that the Houthis will step in shortly. Iran’s war should still enter a new phase of targeting key industries in other countries in the region, and by all indications, this conflict is far from over. Beyond what the US and Israel are doing, I don’t expect any major innovations. The idea of putting boots on the ground in Iran seems insane to me, but in this war, I no longer doubt anything.
