@normonics Hear me out: A gen z Pope will restore removed traditions within the NO. A gen alpha Pope will enforce it. The kids will be alright.

It's clear that the answer to the liturgical tension is that Novus Ordo is going to traditionalize, as opposed to the TLM becoming the standard form. And this is a very balanced and measured solution. Reverent Novus Ordo Mass is beautiful. My soul has been moved on many occasions at NO masses. The liturgy wars are dumb.

Eventually you have to ask yourself whether you're more Catholic than you are "trad." There's a point at which trad ideology draws a hard line. Either you're in this small, obscure "Church within the Church" that is somehow better than 99% of all Catholics, or you're not. There's something apocalyptic about believing that 99% of Catholics are lost, fallen, wrong, demon-possessed, or whatever. It's a dark worldview that seems to have a poisonous effect on the spirit. Even if there are valid critiques to be made of the Novus Ordo, the Second Vatican Council, or the many post-council teachings that muddied the waters, this idea that the ONLY way to Christ is through a handful of scattered Latin Mass communities cuts away at the universality of the one true Church. It also distracts from the reality that so many non-TLM, ordinary run-of-the-mill Parishes are experiencing a genuine revival in the Liturgy. I travel constantly and am constantly at Novus Ordo Masses -- more and more people are receiving on the knee, on the tongue, more and more young Priests are saying parts of the Mass in Latin, using incense, even doing Ad Orientem. This is the direction that everyday Catholicism is heading, and it can be hard to see it from within the trad TLM world. Nothing wrong with preferring the Latin Mass at all. But to ever be so trad that you'd deny the validity of the Novus Ordo, speak ill of the Pope, or have this doom-and-gloom mentality about the state of the Church? This is usually not good, not warranted, and I invite those who feel that way to come out into the wider Church to see the amazing changes taking place. If the average trad were to visit 25 random Novus Ordo Churches around the country, I think they'd be surprised at what they'd see. It may not look quite like LifeSiteNews would say it'd look -- and it definitely wouldn't look the way it did 15 or even 5 years ago.

Do NOT pray the rosary during mass. This is inappropriate and against church teaching.

@PrayTheRosary @VadeadIesum While I'm a big fan of the rosary and the church doesn't say you can't do it, I don't think praying the rosary during mass is the best way because you're not focusing on the Eucharist Always be present during the celebration of Mass and The Eucharist.

I went to my first Easter Vigil in the extraordinary form (pre1955). Truly an incredible experience. It’s like, you thought the ‘62 missal felt rich in tradition? pre1955 is like, hold my tricereo.

@Sensus_Fidelium Yeah I always felt uncomfortable creating content on Ash Wednesday because of this. Let’s normalize *not* doing ash selfies.

Please don't do the ash-selfie tomorrow. Tomorrow is the non holy day of obligation holy day of obligation. (Last year, at the local TLM, people parked 15 min away to walk ... to just get ashes then leave. By the time communion came the crowd was about 1/3 smaller.) It's kinda like smiling to take the photo after you are arrested. If you are getting ashes just to post on Instagram, you are doing it wrong. Something about don't let the right hand know what the left hand is doing (sure we 'disfigure our faces with ashes but we don't need to make sure it's posted on X, Instagram, Facebook, etc.. practice detachment from selfies for the first day.. you're apostolate won't lose donations over not posting an ash selfie Everyone knows you are getting it (especially the big names on here), you don't need to do a "hey look at me" selfie. I think it was St Philip Neri who said 'want to be unknown'.

I get that everyone is drunk on nostalgia 24/7 now, but going to Blockbuster video was absolutely not a better experience than what we have now. I was there. You can't lie to me.

@Leg0King @JackPosobiec Ideally you want to identify unhealthy attachment to earthly things and focus on preparing for Easter. So fasting from something that we truly enjoy, gives us that daily reminder to turn our hearts to God. Giving up sin should be a daily aspiration, not just for 40 days.
