@FinTaylorcomedy @HoratioTheGould You always say your fans are dumb idiots. Three of us had tickets to tonight’s show. Very excited since April. Just got an email from the venue hoping we enjoyed it. We all completely forgot. Not a single brain cell between us. Might shed a tear.

@cursor_ai It's not working for me. I enabled cursor browser, it says browser automation "Ready (Chrome detected)", but 4.5 sonnet says it has no access to browser tools.

@theo I had this and it drove me nuts. Turns out it was the motherboard heatsink fan (X570 Creator). Bearing had gone. Had to rip it out; sound gone, sanity restored!

Been having PC issues for awhile now. Loud whine sound from my rig when booting some games. Doesn’t happen when running benchmarks. Thought it was the GPU, so swapped from a 4090 to a 5090. Issue persists. Thought it was PSU related (14900k + 5090 is a lot of power). Finally upgraded to a 1500w Corsair. Issue persists. I hate computers so much. I’m never ever building one again. I just want to play some games to relax. I’m so fucking done that I am fighting the urge to throw this $6k+ rig off of my balcony. Is there anywhere in SF that I can drop this off, hand over $1k and get back a working PC?

the $273B SaaS market is about to implode. basically, we'll stop paying thousands for generic software and start generating our perfect tools for like $99/month we're about to go from "there's an app for that" to "there's your app for that." today, we're all using project management tools, CRMs, and analytics dashboards built for the average user by bigsaas. which means they're perfect for absolutely no one. it's like wearing someone else's prescription glasses and pretending you can see 20/20. it worked really for a time. but, lots of people wished some of this software was more flexible. AI changes this. instead of forcing our brains to work like generic software, we'll describe our perfect tool and have it generated in minutes. the shift starts with productivity tools. the designer who organizes by color gets their perfect project dashboard. the trader who thinks in patterns gets their ideal analytics suite. the writer who connects ideas like constellations gets their dream note-taking app. the entire SaaS market fragments. instead of 10 major players per category, we'll have millions of personal tools. the money moves from paying for generic software to paying for software generation. and after we build out personal software, then we build our personal agents. it honestly sounds too good to be true, but this is the direction we are headed. speak into existence the tools and "people" to work on our businesses 24/7. i bet big companies still use the large saas companies btw likely for security and habit reasons. they will enhance with personal software but still be dependent on bigsaas. but, when every dollar counts, smbs will be looking mostly dependent on personal software there are thousands of startup ideas in this era of personal software era. example: build an AI software generator for restaurants and their unique workflows. then one for spa owners. then fitness trainers. then wedding planners. each industry has its own weird way of working that generic software never understood. the next billion-dollar company won't sell software. it'll sell software independence.

Slightly surreal interview today: candidate initially mentioned that they follow @SecretCFO on Twitter (which is now relatively common) and then later revealed that they know me through Twitter too 🤯 First time that’s ever happened IRL I think

@WillHayCardiff Let’s say he knows full well that what he’s saying is incorrect, is he free to make up stuff for political gain in this country? I’m sure this very well-trodden ground, but it just feels so moraly reprehensible for a grown adult to manuipulate people like that.

Traits of a millennial manager: • care about output, not input • DMs and chat are second nature • understand your need for work/life balance • deeply offended when Gen Z refer to Dr Dre, 50 Cent and Eminem as “old school hip-hop”

Anyone know of any monitors that can do 4K at 144hz but also have a USB-C port that can deliver power to charge something like a MacBook? I've only found two for an upcoming video. Yes two!

Had a key seat on the leadership team vacant for 6 months that I was filling. Finally found a candidate who started last week. Hooray! She handed in her notice this week after five days on the job :/ ... back to the drawing board

Early in my career I used to scoff at senior management spending their time in endless meetings, crafting org charts and project plans, working on 'alignment' and 'stakeholder management' Didn't they know there was REAL WORK that needed doing? I was so wrong. Here's why.

Everyone talks about hiring A players, here's what one looks like: Our Head of Search (responsible for all written content in the @epicgardening universe) came to me recently and said: "I'm spending 20 hours a week managing editor tasks and responsibilities, which likely cost our company $x/mo. I'd prefer to focus on e-commerce SEO, especially since it takes some time to ramp up and it's 6 months before our busy season in spring. There's a lot of low hanging fruit we need to fix before then, and it'd have a meaningful impact on revenue. If I do this, I need someone to replace my hours, and I've chosen "Jane" from our pool of freelance writers. She's talented, hungry, and already knows a lot of our systems. We can bump her up and bring her on full time which is a net cost increase of $x, which will be offset by increased content production of # articles per month, AND I'll be free to focus on higher leverage tasks. Am I clear to make this move?" This isn't the first time he's done this, either. He routinely brings me proposals like this that are well thought out, clearly display his understanding of how his department fits into the larger business goals, and how he can best leverage his skills.

@BarclaysUKHelp I can't log in to Business Banking using mobile PINsentry anymore. There's no button to select using the Barclays app, only information about how to download it? I've tried an incognito window in case it was a caching thing, also tried a different browser...

Fantastic Succession deep dive from FT. They went though old scripts and screenshots to piece together the Waystar Royco empire. The entire media conglomerate worth $70-80B and the Roy kids each have a ~$2B stake.
