@CopMoustache @Northern_Bobby @tphilli94830797 Same, worked with a lad before we joined together he's now a Cig (Insp) in AGS. Unless we are out socialising, its Cig (our version of gov) in work, even if alone, same for any Cig or higher, they have the rank and whether I respect them or not I will respect the rank they hold.

@Northern_Bobby @tphilli94830797 When I was teaching new recruits they were always told it’s Sir / Ma’am even in emails I have a few friends who went through the ranks including DCC, if we’re alone it was first names, anyone else present and it was Sir / Ma’am

Anyone following who has recently joined the job? Were you taught anything on rank and understanding of lawful orders? Phone call with a new officer earlier regarding an incident. Called me 'mate' 3 times and then said "No, I think that's your job"

Still not a price to get excited over but has dropped from 2.129 two days ago, let's hope it can continue going that direction 🤞

@whatyadoin4grub Again I must ask, what exactly have they done? I'm just not seeing it. Their go to work to rule is always "don't do overtime". Taking money out of the pockets of members who may badly need it. There are multiple other ways to achieve the goal without that

As if the 51% income tax I’m paying wasn’t enough, I’ve just given the bastards another €92. The Irish government has essentially no redeeming qualities

Nine retirements and eight resignations in the latest Garda bulletin. Also, a chiefs’ list is doing the rounds. That’s the circle of life, I suppose!

@Microbedoc2 UK GDPR law is likely different to here in Ireland, over here I had an MRI, private no public service. While in waiting room after I got email with link to my online account with them (set up in advance and confirmed on day) They text me a code and I could see the full scan then

Adam, you are asking the NHS to send medical records which means they are protected under UK GDPR, which is a legal framework regarding personal data that there is no way you are not familiar with as a teacher. They can't just "send it now" because the information needs to be

@limerickwhiskey It was once seen as too simple and system and that we had to move to more intelligent methods. Amazing how the wheel turns and we come back to what works

There is a new Garda presence on the streets of Limerick. It is a "new idea", high visibility policing. If only someone had come up with this welcome idea before...

@MFerris11 To be fair it's the Dept not writing the law is the deal on the drug testing, there is nothing stopping AGS fully vetting people before they join

Valid and very important points raised by @PCSA_Irl but we still have cases of Garda recruits entering Templemore and even starting on duty in stations before even basic vetting is complete. Let’s get the basics right first. Concerns raised over absence of drug testing for gardaí rte.ie/news/ireland/2… via @rte
