Russia’s Investigative Committee inspects attacked LNG carrier "Arctic Metagaz" off the coast of Malta Investigators have seized the voyage data recorder from the vessel, which was damaged in an attack in the Mediterranean Sea in March, Russia's Investigative Committee announced. According to the agency, computer-forensic analysis and decoding of the data contained on the recorder are currently underway. The inspection of the vessel was conducted with the assistance of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, utilizing unmanned aerial and underwater vehicles. Investigators documented fire damage, the destruction of two of the four gas storage tanks, and the complete destruction of the control systems. The Investigative Committee stated that the nature of the damage indicates the external impact of explosive devices.
