I like to spend my Sundays watching British period stuff, so I innocently chose “The Choral,” starring Ralph Fiennes and a bunch of other white guys. It was supposed to be about a small Yorkshire town choirmaster who recruits teenage boys to keep the local choral society going as the men enlist during World War I. 6 minutes in, here comes the BLACK British woman trying out for the choir. She’s played by a NIGERIAN English actress. She immediately becomes the best singer the choir ever had. Everyone acts like it’s perfectly normal. I turned it off. If I wanted present-day politics shoved down my throat, I'd just turn on the news. Next time I'll stick to Downton Abbey reruns or anything pre-2015—back when "period drama" actually meant period-accurate, not modern fantasy cosplay.

@NotFarLeftAtAll My husband had all this equipment in his final weeks. After he passed away the company that delivered the equipment on behalf of the NHS came and collected. This was post the covid pandemic. It possibly varies depending where you live.

NHS Waste I’ve just picked up my mother from hospital after an operation.. they gave her a brand new zimmmer frame and a chair that goes over the toilet to raise her up… she will only need these adaptions for 2 weeks, my mum asked where she could return the items.. they said throw them away!!! This is so wasteful.. have you experienced the same ?

@DarrenJohnson66 They might be twee but they brighten up our streets and make people smile. Unlike the flags they have not been put there with a political motive. Some have been created to raise money for worthy charities. I'll be sad to see them go.

@London_W4 I'm one of your "almost nobodies " plus all the people I've taken here on walking tours over the years. Last tour ws in October finishing with a nice pub lunch at the Morgan Arms.

Mornin’. If you look closely, you can see the skyline of Canary Wharf from here in Mile End, which is an interesting place. 90 percent awful, but with 10 percent beautiful buildings, pubs and nature reserve. A place that almost nobody who doesn’t live here will ever have visited.

A walk in the park. Strolling across Grove Hall Park in Bow, East London in the beautiful morning sunshine today. Absolutely lovely and feels like I could almost be in England.

@LondonMoneyFS This photo is misleading. I'm about to go into the theatre near Leicester Square. At 6pm it was almost impossible to find a cafe for a quick pre theatre snack as there were queues everywhere. Never seen the West End so busy.

@adamboxer1 @raelbrav I think that Rael moves in very limited circles. I don't doubt that these conversations are happening but I haven't heard it from any of my friends. In fact one friend who moved to Israel is returning to London early next year as it isn't safe there with rocket attacks.

@dumbandfunn I loved "Raised by Wolves" ( same producer as Derry Girls). Had 2 seasons on Channel 4. Not sure if it's available now.

@JohnQ27899645 @aziz0nomics Still the same now. When I called out an acquaintance who wrote something derogatory about Jewish people on Facebook she replied "I didn't mean you". Standard reply of racists when you call them out.

@aziz0nomics When I was growing up in the 60's the big line was - I hate Jews but you're different . The world is ignorant with mental laziness.

The fact that it's become controversial to say "I like Jews" tells you everything about where our world is headed.

@BHNSuz @ChrisMid As I work in London taking groups of people who live in the London suburbs and surrounding counties on guided walks I can tell you that your statement simply isn't true. And when I'm not guiding I'm in the centre of London socialising and enjoying all the cultural events.
