Why's it 'unpleasant' to point out a government shouldn't look like it is going to incur debts it can't pay?

@Nairobifatlover @93vintagejones I don't think she has, thoughit is irrelevant to my point. The first two replies to the OP were: "how was this allowed?" Britain is full of people conditioned over the past 80 years to think automatically that bureaucrats should be arbiters of taste and everything else.

The British Left would be outraged and would be declaring anyone who did that an extreme racist. Now you don’t need to imagine it, because that is what the British Left has spent an entire week doing in order to diminish an antisemitic hate crime.

Now imagine in response to that racially motivated hate crime, the British Right spent an entire week arguing that there was no hate crime because the assailant also stabbed a white man & accused everyone outraged about the hate crime of intentionally covering up a white victim.

Imagine a white supremacist went on a stabbing spree targeting people of colour in London, but before that, he stabbed his white friend, then jumped on public transport for an hour to head to a multicultural area of the city.

You may find this surprising, but I often receive comments from native Arab Muslims asking how Britain has come to have so many radical Islamists. Many of them visited London recently and were shocked by many things in our beloved capital 😉

@DarrenJohnson66 I owe them an apology. Isn't it classic conspiracist to believe that what you say is going to bring down an all-powerful 'system' if only people know about it and also that publicity for what you say is bad?

@MerrynSW @MysteriosoX Dunning-Kruger syndrome? The tax system is designed to deceive people in regular jobs about how much tax they pay. Most of them know they don't really understand it, don't luck out making big money in a odd speciality, and don't believe they thereby qualify as genius economist.

Extraordinary thing here is only partly his total confusion about how income tax and IHT work plus utter ignorance of the trust system. Main bit that threw me is that he doesn't know how NI works. And thinks he has paid way more tax than he has. How does this happen?

Greater Manchester Police have contacted me and asked me to attend a voluntary interview under suspicion of harassment. They have refused to provide any details of the allegation. Disclosure, they say, will only happen if I attend. That is not how voluntary interviews work. When attendance is voluntary, basic disclosure in advance is a reasonable expectation. It is the minimum required for a suspect to take proper legal advice. There latest targeting of me follows years of targeted action against me connected to my work. I spent three years on police bail. Every case brought against me has collapsed. The last time GMP forced entry to my home in a dawn raid, they were ultimately compelled to release me after accepting I was the victim. More recently I pursued a judicial review after GMP unlawfully protected an individual who ran a sustained campaign of harassment against me. I was raised to believe the police were the good guys. They are not. Not in my experience. I have faced this before. I will face it again. And those that are desperate to silence me need to understand this, I will not stop lawfully campaigning to safeguard our communities and protect children from abuse. Raja Miah MBE

There's something seriously seriously wrong about that Hantavirus story on that ship off cape Verde that is a polar expedition vessel. Like every spider sense in me is tingling reading the story. None of the stories add up to the deaths and the strangeness.

My honest review of the Quran is that a well-traveled, highly intelligent, amoral merchant from Arabia found and re-wrote a copy of the Bible. We can do religious study without the starting assumption that the studied religions are...real.

@guy_herbert @theepicmap It's indeed a way to celebrate everyone working hard to earn the nation some part of our earnings as tax. But moving it to the next available Monday is a way of letting us know that a public holiday hits different on the first working day of the week.

Britain has a bank holiday for Star Wars Day. Nothing to do with the Labour Government in the 1970s showing its submission to the unions.
