Good news that VAT will be cut on electricity bills. It’s a simple way for families to save a few quid, and to mechanically help to keep inflation that little bit lower. But the DigitalID program was unfunded. The government will have to set out how it will pay for its new policies at the budget.

One only has to take a quick look at this diagram to see that Andy Burnham will not be "scrapping" the #DigitalID scheme. The new PM may postpone the implementation of the two red boxes below (the 'ID credential' & UUID) but he's already said he'll carry on with all the rest...

You'll note the Minister doesn't explain HOW #digitalID will do what he claims. The promised consultation #roadshow never materialised, the #PeoplesPanel was held in secret - now we get 30 seconds of unsubstantiated assertions in front of Postman Pat. Bring on the reshuffle...
