You read that right: they're giving themselves a raise. NYC is buried in structural deficits. Pension obligations are underfunded. And the City Council's response? Suggest for themselves an 18.2% pay bump, Mayor to $305,800, Comptroller to $247,100, council members to $175,500. $2.6 million in new taxpayer money, just so they can feel good about themselves. Mamdani and Menin say they'll "decline" theirs. But that doesn't change the vote. Every other member who signed off on this should be ashamed. You don't reward failure. You don't get a raise for running a deficit, you get fired. Despicable!

I'm a firm believer that if we gave everyone in America $1M each today, in 20yrs we would still have the same wealth disparity & social construct we have today. Nothing will change. There's dumbasses (broke), there's educated & common sense'rs (millionaires) , and there's builders (billionaires). Everyone fits into one of these three categories.

Dear ReTwit, similarly I need help with this collection of assets in Portland. Occupancy issues here as this collection of asset is only 67% leased. But seems to be in a rather affluent area. Top of mind, seems like crime and quality of life are issues. If anyone knows these assets well, would love to connect.

Taking advantage of the $1k free money in a new 530A IRA (i.e., Trump Account) makes sense to me.

@Mr_Neutral_Man Area is definitely the best of Portland and the crime/ homelessness isn't as bad as other parts. Occupancy will be stagnant at best imo and any trends that do reverse will probably benefit the areas on the county border before Portland proper. Add'l 4% income tax hard to justify
