@FakeMafiaHubs @skubysnacks_ They're not as small as Pittsburgh or Milwaukee, but they're definitely in the bottom half. They also lost their local TV contract and production was taken over by MLB, which is a significant revenue loss.
English

@halborski @skubysnacks_ Detroit is not a small market team
English

@CovertheCorner That last bit is the important part. I can't imagine they want to call him up for 6-8 weeks and then risk him not playing in 2027 at a key stage in his development. Maybe it would be different if he were crushing AAA, but I can't imagine he'd be a significant upgrade right now.
English

As Hammy discussed last night, I think the Guardians will have to be forced to promote Ralphy with his play because if there is a lockout that causes missed games, he can continue to play if not added to the 40-man this year.
Cade Cracas@CracasCade
Ralphy Velazquez’s future is incredibly bright. Cleveland likely won’t rush him to the big leagues, especially if Kyle Manzardo continues this little late-season surge, but he’s a dark horse to make the Opening Day roster next year. #GuardsBall
English

@xMDawg @skubysnacks_ His agent doesn't negotiate extensions for his clients. His big money guys will always become free agents and test the market. As soon as Skubal got that first Cy Young there was zero chance the Tigers sign him before he reaches free agency.
English

@skubysnacks_ The Tigers had 2 offseasons to sign him. He's the bad guy and screw him now, huh?
English

@FakeMafiaHubs @skubysnacks_ Half the teams in the league don't have a local TV deal anymore and the Dodgers have one that pays $300M every year.
How can a small market team do that when the Dodgers have more than their entire annual revenue before selling a single ticket?
English

@skubysnacks_ This is a bad take, Tarik has continually said he wants to be in Detroit
If Detroit doesn’t want him, then yeah he should go where he gets the most money and has the best chance to win a ring
That doesn’t make him a sellout. Other teams should try to do what LAD does
English

@SocksAgency I cant fucking re type him guys what am I going to do hes already bipedal
English

@ZackMeisel This feels like the first time Francona didn't win the Cup in a long time
English

@JL_Baseball Festa had his first game in 3 weeks without giving up a run. You can't waste that.
English

There is no player like José Ramírez. Presented without comment ⬇️
Tim Stebbins@tim_stebbins
José Ramírez fouled a pitch directly off his left knee. He's staying in after some evaluation.
English

@CovertheCorner Reds went 35 innings without a run earlier this year. As long as it doesn't get that bad...
English

@dre1929331 @jdcchap02 @FranmilsEyebrow They had some pretty decent platoon guys like Raburn and Guyer. Pair them up with a solid lefty like Chisenhall and you've got a good thing going.
Unfortunately after that it was like half a good season each from Franmil, Gonzalez, Noel
English

@halborski @jdcchap02 @FranmilsEyebrow That's all we asking is for some league average right handed hitters.. Guardians haven't had a good right handed hitting outfielder since maybe Manny?
English

@dre1929331 @jdcchap02 @FranmilsEyebrow Like, maybe you could find a DH/1B type, but Rhys Hoskins is 11th in baseball in homers in that category. There simply aren't enough good right handed hitters in baseball to go around.
English

@dre1929331 @jdcchap02 @FranmilsEyebrow There's 16 RH OF with 10+ homers in the MLB. There's only 22 RH OF with a wRC+ of league average or better. Take out the Trout/Buxton/Judge types and it's real slim when it comes to options, and every playoff contender wants to upgrade.
English

@jdcchap02 @FranmilsEyebrow There are no good right handed hitters. I'm not even talking about available, but just in general.
English

@CChangeAudio @FranmilsEyebrow Tim Herrin - he went from around 3.4 BB/9 in 2024 to 6.3 in 2025 and 5.1 this year. He's had negative WAR both this year and last.
English

@guardsguy @FranmilsEyebrow Nah, the only teams trading would be teams that want to compete now, so they're not giving up MLB ready upgrades.
But if you can pull of a Mike Clevenger type trade you have to take it.
English

@halborski @FranmilsEyebrow Ya I just don’t think that’s a good way to go about solving a problem.. trading a guy that is among the best In the league for unproven talent. If some team wants to give up 2 quality big league hitters sure. That offer is not coming either.
English

@JL_Baseball Okay, it's basically like the pick never existed if he doesn't sign and the pool is reduced accordingly.
I can see that creating some problems if an underslot guy decides not to sign and there suddenly there isn't money for another pick.
English

@halborski Well that money disappears if you dont sign him. You dont get to use it if he doesnt sign. So its like the money doesnt exist.
English

Cleveland still spent the most money possible on their draft class this year (again) without losing a pick next year after the Logan Schmidt pick didn't work out and the bonus amount left with it.
But as always, they always spend the max (save for 2020, because, 2020)
Carlos Collazo@CarlosACollazo
This year 11 teams spent the full 5% overage (rounded to the nearest thousandth). 23 teams spent at least 4% over their pool. One team spent their exact pool (Pittsburgh). Six teams didn't spent their full pool. Full list:
