They are torturing Imran Khan, the people's preferred PM, AND his wife in solitary confinement.
Why?
So he signs a deal relinquishing any chance to lead again.

If the United States makes a negotiated agreement with Iran the likely outcome will be obtaining detailed mapping and intelligence on its nuclear facilities via inspections, followed by revocation of the deal and reimposition of sanctions within a few years under a new administration and targeted attacks based on the intelligence gained during the inspection period. If this sounds overly cynical its exactly what happened last time.
