A section of exceptionally well-preserved Roman water supply system that was uncovered in Stabiae, Italy 🇮🇹 It consists of a large lead tank with conduits leading in and out that used to regulate the flow of water through the rooms of the villa. Like Pompeii and Herculaneum, Stabiae was destroyed in the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. The discovery is considered exceptionally well-preserved. #archaeohistories
