$CRWV is trading like it's heading towards insolvency, when the opposite is true.
"But the debt is so high!"
Not really. Long-term debt was $17b as of last quarter. This quarter it'll be over $20b. That sounds bad, but it's ignoring how CapEx plays work.
In CoreWeave's case, it's important to also look at total liabilities since they have a lot of commitments tied to the AI data center build out. Some of these can be canceled under certain circumstances but I doubt they will be and we shouldn't count on that or even want that. That number is $50b, probably $55+ this quarter.
But we also shouldn't ignore their backlog. Estimates are for just north of 100 billion for backlog this quarter. Cantor had an excellent note. Where they are expecting a tremendous beat based on the underwriting documents of the most recent debt raise. Perhaps $131b.
In essence, their backlog is double their liabilities. This is not a firm that's in danger.
Let's put it another way. Let's say there's a dude named Weaver who goes $180k in debt. That's scary! Let's also say that he plans on spending north of $300k more over the next few years.
On the surface, it seems like this dude is in danger. That is, until you hear he will be making over $1m which are largely tied to contracts that cannot be broken.
I don't think such a dude would be getting many calls from debt collectors. And I don't think the market should be concerned by the debt and liability structure of coreweave.
