Game One of this edition of the Silver Boot Series goes to the Astros, as the Rangers fall 2-0 in a pitchers duel. Jack Leiter kept the squad in the game, striking out six while working through a season-high seven innings. Leiter’s only run surrendered came by way of a solo-HR in the 3rd by Isaac Paredes. The Astros added an insurance run in the 8th. The first hit of the night for the Rangers came in the 8th inning courtesy of Justin Foscue. With two runners on and one out, a pop-out by Andrew McCutchen and a base-running error by Foscue put an end to the rally. Tomorrow, Jacob deGrom takes the mound at 6:10 PM in hopes to even the series.
