@capell_jeff @CoachIngram10 @RobertPGHKansas I was waiting for someone to say it is not PTO. At least in Texas (yes, I’m here too, Jeff), it is illegal to pay teachers on a day they do not work. It is called “gift of public funds” and prohibited by state law.

@CoachIngram10 @RobertPGHKansas It's a salary. Are you not paid for your summers off? You earn an annual salary and get automatically 8 weeks PTO. I'd love summers off, but can't afford the pay cut or feed my family. Have fun on vaca!

I’m amazed at the number of folks who have zero clue teachers work a 10 mth contract and our pay is spread out over 12months. Name another profession that does that…
