Mi papá me llevaba al colegio todos los días. No hablábamos mucho. Me reí.

Seven dogs stolen from their owners have gone viral after escaping from an illegal transport truck and making their way home. They traveled around 17 km together, led by a corgi across highways and fields, now safely back with their respective owners..🐶🐾🥺❤️

This should have been on the front page of The New York Times. I’ve spoken with students in America. Most have no idea that more than 32,000 unarmed, people have been killed for demanding freedom in Iran. Hundreds more are on death row, waiting to be hanged. 💔 Thank you, New York Post.

Today, in Iran, in the middle of a war, the regime executed a 19-year-old national wrestling champion for the crime of joining January protests. 💔 After signaling to the world, including President @realDonaldTrump, that they would halt executions of protesters, the regime has done the exact opposite. Three young protesters, Saleh Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi, were hanged in Qom after a sham trial. Reports indicate torture. Forced confessions. No access to chosen lawyers. Closed-door proceedings. No right to appeal. I call on @GlobalAthleteHQ to stand with Iranian athletes who are being silenced, imprisoned, and executed simply for raising their voices. This is not just about sports. This is about human dignity.

Eliza Jabore Preorder BACKSTABBERS now!
Give two authors the same setup and they will take it wildly different places. No one will ever write the same book as you.

Please, please, please do not run other people's work (those you're critiquing/beta reading/freelance editing for, or anyone's work) through an AI checker. The system may literally be then using that person's work! & they are trusting you w/their words-something very precious!

@NikkiMDoucet @AlyssaMatesic Sometimes it’s just all in how the author does it for sure! It was like a revelation when I read third present I actually loved—so masterfully done (might’ve been Shari Lapena? I forget, but there are some good psych thrillers in 3rd present alternating POV)

It's undeniable: first person novels are EVERYWHERE. And some people aren't here for it, calling first person writing "lazy" and "juvenile." But does more first person mean the death of the modern novel? I'm not so sure... youtu.be/WmcnL_kFhMQ

@AlyssaMatesic Let’s cover present tense hate next! Lolol. In some literary circles it’s rarely used & looked down on, but honestly it pulls me in so fast 📚

@NikkiMDoucet @AlyssaMatesic I’ve had the same issue with third present, but of late, I’ve found some psych thrillers that really work with it. So I truly think it depends on the author’s natural writing voice/POV and the story they’re telling.

@AlyssaMatesic I don't mind first person past tense so much I despise first person present tense, can't read it, it pulls me right out of the book and I can't get past it

@AlyssaMatesic I LOVE that you referred to both Gatsby and Rebecca—I’ve said that for years, when Twilight got backlash for being in first person. Let’s allow authors to write in the POV that comes most naturally to them and stop throwing shade on any POV we dislike.

I’m not interested in forcing anyone to become pregnant, or not become pregnant, or parent a child for 18 years, or not parent a child for 18 years. I literally just think you can’t kill innocent humans.
