Last night I flew on an @AirCanada flight #AC779 from Montreal to LAX and I watched a medical emergency happen on the plane. I was so impressed with the level of attentiveness and quick action from the crew that I just want to highlight the level of professionalism and consideration they had for the passenger.
The medical situation was resolved on the flight and everyone left ok 🙏
Good for you @AirCanada!

Update from Maya's father:
Yesterday was a big day for us. We transitioned out of the ICU into a more recovery and rehab-focused unit, and it’s now been 26 hours since Maya’s EVD was removed for the second time. So far, everything is looking positive. She doesn’t seem to be in as much pain, and we’re starting to see a little more energy and color come back. She’s still not a fan of the boot for the pressure sore on her heel doing her best to kick it off whenever she can but her movements are becoming much more intentional.
Our time in the PICU, for lack of a better word, has been a whirlwind filled with both highs and lows for Maya, but slowly we're making some more progress.
And then came a moment today that completely overwhelmed me. OT and Physio came in, and with their help, Maya was able to sit up on the edge of the bed. This was huge for two reasons. First, she was using her own muscles to help support herself (with assistance), and second… I was finally able to wrap my arms around my daughter. Really wrap my arms around her and hold her tight.
I can’t even begin to put into words what that hug felt like. All I wanted in that moment was to lift her up, hold her close, and never let go.
We’re getting there, Dads little Maya Bear 🐻 I love you so much ❤️

An update of Maya Gebala
(Tumbler Ridge)
From her mom Cia
Hey everyone..
So, I haven't done an update in a bit, as many people have mentioned.
Mayas progression in the initial phases were leaps and bounds, day by day. We were told on multiple occasions she wouldn't make it in various ways.
At some point, the reality of our situation started to settle. My baby has a direct bullet hole in her brain.. we've defeated odds, but how far will we go?.
Simultaneously in the gravity of acceptance, mayas health took a turn for the worse. Pneumonia WITH MRSA, a very resistant strain of meningitis, a cerebral leak, and 2 brain surgeries in 48 hours.
My stomach was in knots, and I dont think I was able to process a coherent sentence for anyone to beable to understand.
Day by day though, she's coming back to the place she was, the swelling is going down again, and her eye is open during the day.
Shes able to squeeze our hands and wiggle her toes when we ask..
She has a long road ahead.
I will try to post a bit more as the weeks go on..

I’ve never made a prayer request in my 14+ years here on Twitter/X, but here goes.
A few weeks ago, our 14yo grandson Drystan was having persistent abdominal pain. His mom, our daughter Heather, took him to InstaCare, figuring it was some kind of intestinal bug. They ran blood tests on him, then said, “You need to get him to a hospital immediately.”
He has acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The 5-year survival rate for teens/young adults appears to be ~66% (thanks, @grok, for the solid research), but it’s still going to be a long, hard path.
He will be in the hospital for the next six months or so, getting five rounds of chemo, with a slight chance of coming home for a few days between rounds.
Prayers requested for him and his parents, Michael & Heather.

Due to an ongoing security situation in Puerto Vallarta impacting the @VallartaAirport, Air Canada has temporarily suspended operations there today. We are monitoring the situation and in contact with local authorities who are working to resolve the issue. (1/2)

While skating on his lunch break in Ontario, Canada, a man spotted three deer stranded on a frozen lake. The animals were unable to stand or move on the slippery ice, so he quickly skated over to help. Using calm movements, he managed to pull each of the deer safely back to shore, preventing what could have been a tragic situation. His quick thinking and kind action turned into a lifesaving rescue. 🛟 🦌 👏

Listen to the good news after so many many many terrible news. She has a good news God is good .
God who started a good work in her , will not stop until he completes the good work in Jesus name amen
