@Selwyyyyn So extreme rains events possible for mumbai ahead this season?

A month full of large scale suppression over #Kerala with unusual rise in temperature & all of a sudden atmosphere turned favorable with convective phase of BSISO moved in -It ended up with extreme rainfall yesterday . Similarly Konkan-Gujarat suffered anomalous dryness, increased temperature during early part of the monsoon,when favorable conditions evolved , it just dumped plenty of rains leading to catastrophic damages. This was the case in 2015 TN coast nov floods .. 2015 October was with suppression leading to full of dryness & when MJO arrived in Indian ocean ,scenes changed with atmosphere turning favorable ..It ended up with floods through frequent extreme rain events.. What's the bottom line ?? Be it NEM Or SWM, Extremes are turning frequent in Elnino.. All those worries about the catchment areas - Will it rain? Are we heading towards a drought? Can finally be put to rest. Mumbai's reservoir levels are now close to 90% in July itself! After a very wet 2025, 2026 has also been exceptionally wet so far. Nature always has surprises in store. Just woah.

A fresh Depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is likely to intensify into a Deep Depression as per IMD, making it the second depression this month. Despite this, the core monsoon belts of Kerala and Karnataka continue to carry huge rainfall deficits. The offshore trough and monsoon flow have largely favoured Maharashtra and Gujarat so far. #8FactorCheck Valid 25-31 July Latest look reveals that despite a strengthening #ElNino and some #DryAir intrusion, other factors like BoB LPA, weak MISO and MJO will keep #Monsoon active albeit weaker than it has been the last one week. More importantly, as estimated months ago, #IOD has now initiated it's transition to a Positive IOD, which should emerge in early August. Will it be be strong enough to counter the strengthening EL Nino in latter half of the season?

#Maharashtra and #Goa outlook Valid 25 - 29 Jul Ashadi to see sunshine and scattered showers theme over #Konkan and Goa and #ghats till Monday 🌦️. Raigad Ratnagiri, Palghar and MMR to see more showers than south konkan. While these will be light-moderate in nature for most, a brief spell of heavier showers is likely 26 Jul morning. North Madhya Maha including #Pune and Marathwada to see scattered light-mod showers till Monday. South Madhya maha mostly light showers only. From late Monday, #DryAir intrusion will reduce shower activity over western Maha, tho it will not be strong enough to completely stop rains. A fresh LPA has formed over north BoB, and will become WML moving gradually westwards Monday onwards. As a result #Vidarbha especially eastern portions including #Nagpur likely to to see mod-heavy rainfall and thunderstorms from 27 - 29th Jul. Scattered thunderstorms also likely over Sambhajinagar and adjoining north Marathwada from Monday.
