@lagerandgospel2 @thriftycars @Budget @budget is not a savior by any means. Better make sure the battery isn’t almost dead. You can read my post to find out what may be in your future with them. They will rent you a lemon and watch and laugh at the fallout.

Last week, I was in the air to FLA when I got a voicemail from @thriftycars telling me that despite having paid for a car rental, no car was available. I called back as I ran to the gate of my next flight, no refunds offered. So I scrambled & got one with @budget instead.

Don’t use @Budget Workerclosed window in middle of day and said she was done for the day. Told me come back another day - I said my husband left a medical device. She didn’t care - emailed company - NO response!

Used @Budget to move to AZ from TX and I don’t think the experience could have been worse… delays for no reason, making me hunt for the equipment myself, and nobody would talk to me long enough to get anything done. I’d say do not use them if you want a seamless move

I prepaid €860.29 for a car in Málaga (booking D014575076). I arrived on time with a valid licence, ID and payment cards. The car was never handed over — and nobody will refund me. Here’s what happened 🧵
Budget’s own stamped paperwork says the booking was “cancelled for improper use of the vehicle” — a car I was never handed. You can’t misuse a vehicle you never received. I only stated ordinary business + personal use, which no rental contract prohibits.
Meanwhile @discovercarscom, who took the €860.29, first blamed my payment card, then closed the case. Two different excuses, neither valid — and still no refund for a service that was never delivered. The money is sitting with the intermediary.
I’ve now opened a chargeback with my bank and filed formal complaints with @consumoresponde (Junta de Andalucía) and @eccspain (Centro Europeo del Consumidor) for non-delivery of a fully prepaid service and wrongful refusal to refund.
All I’m asking for is the €860.29 back — the amount I prepaid for a car I never received. @discovercarscom @Budget @Avis @GoAvisBudget: refund it and stop frauding consumers assuming they can’t defend themselves.
