One thing I've noticed with so many early Texas figures is that they had excellent penmanship. Here's a note from Mirabeau B. Lamar. It's almost art. Cursive writing has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Remember when we used to get graded on penmanship? Do schoolchildren still learn to write in cursive?
