Ethiopia is home to world-class manufacturing. If it had its own seaport today, the impact would be real and measurable. It would essentially remove the country’s major structural constraints and increase its overall performance ceiling. Currently, Ethiopia relies heavily on Djibouti for over 90% of its trade. This dependency creates costs, delays, and vulnerabilities. A domestic seaport would change this in several key ways: 1. Trade efficiency would be greatly improved Transportation costs could be reduced by 20-40%, and shipping times would be shorter and more predictable. 2. Industrial performance would be stronger Factories (such as textiles, agro-processing, and solar manufacturing) would rely on imported inputs and export markets. 3. Foreign investment would increase rapidly Investors would look first at logistics 4. Economic growth will be slightly higher - but more stable. 5. Strategic independence will improve Reducing dependence on neighbors will give Ethiopia more control over its trade policy, pricing. With a population of 130 million, this is why we call the port a matter of concern, and we call it legitimate, appropriate and legal !! The countries of the world must understand this reality!!

Friendly reminder that Canada has an expiry date, and it’s coming fast. A country as diverse as this can never stay united; it’s impossible. 🇨🇦 is a legacy British Empire trade zone with multiple nations under its control. They will go their own way as the regime crumbles. Alberta will take over most of the former Northwest Territories. Québec will gladly walk away. Vancouver will choose the Singapore option instead of joining Alberta or staying an exclave of Canada. And Newfoundland, realizing that they are Ottawa’s new colonial oil cash cow will become their own nation again. A rump Canada of Ontario, Manitoba and a Maritimes separated from the rest will remain. And that likely won’t last either. O Canada!

Isaias is from Dessie and @IsmailOguelleh of Djibouti is from Dire Dawa, even folks from South Sudan, Somalia and Somaliland government have Ethiopian origin and educational background. horn has its heart in Ethiopia and its brain in Cairo. Ultimately, It’s Ethiopia’s central government strategic culture misalignment that resulted in this folks working against Ethiopia’s interests. power and influence dynamics in the horn warrants timely correction.

FOR THE RECORD Firstly The Bible mentions Ethiopia several times and “never” mentions Eritrea once. Science also confirms that “Mitochondrial Eve” the mother of humanity was a woman who lived in the area of Modern Day Ethiopia 100-150 Thousand years ago. You can have your own opinion but not your own facts. Check the sources of the “Out of Africa" theory.  🇪🇹🌍🇪🇹 1. California University Berkeley 2. Emory University (Wallace Group) 3. When you have 130 million population and are expected to drastically increase, you can’t survive as a country without permanent direct access to the sea. #Ethiopia must regain its rightful access to the sea through mutual respect and understanding. You can’t depend on other countries to meet the economic demands of this massive population. No matter who’s in power today, those in power tomorrow and the coming generations will still need access to the sea.

Houthis are training hundreds of Al-Shabaab fighters, including on Iranian-made drones and missiles. A UN report warns of a widening militant alliance in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea. It’s imperative that Ethiopia return to the Red Sea. The emerging Houthi–Al-Shabaab axis is a direct national security threat to Ethiopia homeland and its access to the the rest of the world. Ethiopia cannot practically depend on small nation Djibouti (its only and external maritime access) to defend its interests. Ethiopia’s return and its NAVY presence on its home Red Sea is the only sustainable solution to secure the strategic corridor through which 12% of global trade passes.

Why is Djibouti even a country? It was solely created by European colonialists, specifically France, to landlock Ethiopia. In the future, we will dismiss the unelected military Junta's (Derg's) acceptance of the lease-to-ownership conversion to France. Djibouti is our Hong Kong.

Egyptian government sent its Jet to pick up dictator for life Isaias because the last Eritrean presidential jet was stolen by defecting air force captains. In October 2012, two Eritrean Air Force pilots defected to Saudi Arabia in the presidential aircraft (a Yemenia / ex-Yemeni Boeing 737-700 conversion used by the Office of the President). The plane did not return and In 2013, Eritrea sent another pilot to recover the aircraft, claiming it was part of a diplomatic coordination to return state property. However the pilot defected as well so did the engineers and flight technicians involved. When Isaias travels abroad for state visits, the host country typically dispatches its own government aircraft to pick him up in Asmara and return him back. It’s likely he won’t be able to return to Asmara one of this days.

Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki has begun an official five-day visit to Egypt, during which he will take part in the inauguration of the new Egyptian Museum. He is expected to discuss with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi the situation in Sudan, developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region, as well as bilateral relations.

Question to our Afar cousins The 1993 referendum on Eritrea divided your nation into two countries. My question is: Were the Afar people, as a whole, and under Ethiopian rule (who form the majority), consulted in this referendum? If not, we can say that the referendum is *null and void*, as it violated the right to self-determination of the Afar people within Ethiopia as of 1991.

It was a decision made by Tigaru (TPLF) and Tigrenya (HGDF) to separate Afar and make Ethiopia landlocked state. This decision has no legitimacy of the people on the ground specifically the #Afars of both side and it’s time for #Ethiopia to fix that mistake. #Afar #Ethiopia
