where most people go wrong about fat loss is that they think they have to find and implement the diet model that they will follow for the rest of their life.
fat loss/caloric restriction by the laws of nature is meant to be a transient state, because when prolonged it results in death.
when you are trying to lose fat you induce a state of stress caused by nutritional deprivation. you force your body to tap into its own energy storages, which in nature basically means: oh shit, there is no food around, i am under risk of starvation. the amplitude of this response of course depends on the size of the caloric deficit you have introduced and how satiating are the foods you are consuming. but a stress response will always be there. this stress response will lower your sex hormones,make your cognition worse, will negatively impact your sleep. there is nothing you can do about it. but the good thing is a caloric deficit is not meant to last forever.
i see a lot of people pushing their diet model as the “diet model to lose fat and to maintain forever” and it is simply not the case. a healthy diet that makes you thrive and a fat loss diet are completely different things, one is about what you eat, the other is about how many calories you eat.
peaters who claim they have magically up-regulated their thyroid significantly above baseline whilst losing fat. this literally can not be done, and there is not a single research paper that backs this claim. same goes for carnivore people,keto people or any other “magic diet that made me lose fat whilst gaining muscle and feeling great” gurus. (i think ray peat diet is great btw, it just isn't about fat loss but optimizing thyroid function and minimizing stress and inflammation)
the only rational way of going about reaching the body composition you desire is: a period of caloric deficit(the length of it depends of course on how much fat you carry),and once you have reached the body fat you desire and have no longer excess fat,you slowly increase your calories to maintenance to the point where you function optimally,maintain your weight, but are not gaining fat.
optimal function at a caloric deficit does not exist.

Taller men usually end up with taller women, this is proven by research. The misconception stems from the fact that shorter women who desire taller partners are very vocal about it, or dudes obsessed with short chicks.
Tall men are universally attractive, whilst usually women are considered most attractive at average to slightly above average height(165-172cm range), so the genetic pendulum still swings in favor of selection and continuation of the "tall genes".

one thing that is strange to me is how can a dimorphic gap between the sexes evolve if this sort of selection doesn't lead to greater dimorphism but flattens the curve? like if tall men getting with shorter women was a trait that reinforced the gap of taller male offspring and shorter female offspring as a sexually dimorphic trait i would understand that, but instead you get a shorter son than dad or a taller daughter than mom. i have a less than elementary understanding of genetics but i find this very odd

The most critical piece of evidence against the theory of evolution and natural selection is that men are GENERALLY attracted to shorter women. This makes no sense from a biological/evolutionary stand point as it would be far better to be attracted to tall women.

Stricter fat restriction is to be recommended for a bulking phase rather than a cutting phase where nutrition partitioning matters less as long as you have adequate protein. During a bulk excess calories that come from fat are directly stored as fat, carbs have a long methabolic pathway to be converted to fat and are stored as such if they have nowhere else to go(put simply).

I'm pretty new to peating and the most confusing thing is how a lot of advice posted on X goes completely against what Peat said
Especially regarding fat intake with Peat being extremely pro saturated fats where as X peaters recommend minimizing fat intake in general due to Randle cycle
The confusing part is that they don't make it clear whether it's strictly for body fat loss purposes or if higher amount of saturated fats impact health negatively (just not as much as PUFA)
