@theo web nowadays is more being a slop-plumber than a proper engineer, so of course the thing that helps accelerate that process will be very well adopted by people who don't want to understand what they're doing and just deploy utterly fucked applications for clout.

@SebAaltonen @sneha___03 it's not like there's a lot more distros who dont need you to have that much ram to function, and even if you restrict yourself to Ubuntu, you can not use GNOME, pivot to Xubuntu (xfce4, 1GB minimum ram), Lubuntu (LXDE, 1GB).

@sneha___03 No, I don't. And Ubuntu official min specs don't: "Ubuntu Desktop 26.04 LTS requires a 2GHz dual-core processor or better, a minimum of 6GB RAM and 25 GB of free hard drive space"

@schteppe `std::exception` is deservedly hated, but it has legitimate use cases. As far as I am aware, Rust has no throw+catch mechanic/exceptions. So saying that `Result<T,E>` covers it is plainly false.

Why C compilers can't agree in how a standard C library function should works? ☹️ And better not to talk about strncpy()...

@ChShersh I have a question, i LOVE CPP, but i despise effin deps management, how do you deal with it, o superior master. I just need to nail it down and i wont even look at rust anymore.

I needed to implement this function in C++ to count graphemes (aka visible characters) in a string because string .size() returns the number of bytes Invaluable my TUI in C++ implementation
