That's not the case. The door of success was hardship, accepting independence at all costs, and then build up from there. I didn't expect a house when I got out of school - I was happy to have a little apt I could afford on my own to rent and lived on peanut butter sandwhichs. That's the door. You show me your city and I'll show you what I would have bought - and then you'll likely tell me I'm expecting too low. But that's what I would have done, and it's what I'd do now if I could hard pressed. It's called grit.

My work has gotten far more stressful with the advent of AI. The output you have to have is multiplying....so the demands on you are multiplying. This means the 8 hours you work are far more stressful than before. I could see AI bringing about a 4 hour workday, or a 3 day work week...

THIS IS WILD… Passenger says United denied a simple request that could literally save their life. Severe peanut allergy. One exposure = possible fatal reaction. All they asked for? A small buffer zone on the plane. Instead… they were told to basically deal with it and “email the company.” On a packed flight where people are eating inches away… That’s not a minor issue. That’s life or death. Do airlines have a responsibility here… or is this asking too much? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

I once had to reassure a (very broke) man that I adored that a £50 ring was absolutely fine and that I wanted to marry him more than I wanted an expensive ring. Sure enough he proposed with said ring, I adored it, I showed it off to everyone, and it did not matter one bit how much it cost. This relationship didn’t work out for other external reasons but at least it wasn’t because I would accept nothing less than a mined 3ct ring. He should run.

Because gold was being used for speculation. It's not a store of wealth. I hate to say it - but people still flee to dollars for a few reasons: - You pay your mortgage in dollars - You pay your employees in dollars - You pay out your insurance claims in dollars ...I think there are a few other things that you do with dollars. I hate dollars, it's a shit coin - but it IS where money flees to in times of instability because you need to make sure you can pay your liabilities.

I tip in restaurants and I tip well. They deserve it. Everything else: fast food, etc - I either pay cash to avoid the social bullying or I tip zero, etc. Often I also write a bad review (if the tip is listed for fast food) and avoid the place. In India there are 'FP' (fixed price) stores - there's an FP sign. No haggling, the price you see is the price you pay. I only shop at those stores. Once restaurants start adopting 'NT' (no tip) - I'll eat exclusively at those joints.
