@TheStoicSailor I reckon that those who took the run around the peri-track option would be agile enough to dodge the shrapnel after you take it down, a win-win for mandatory fun I say

@BO3673 At BRNC I spent a couple of Wednesday Sport afternoons dabbling in clay pigeon shooting. Everyone mocked us, but I feel like my chances of UAS survival are now marginally greater than those who just ran around the peri-track.

Huge thanks to WO1 Willson for his outstanding service and commitment to the Engineer Branch, and congratulations to WO1 Paterson as he takes up the role — continuing to champion our people, professionalism, and technical excellence across the fleet. @RoyalNavy #aWEsoME

Today marked the handover of the Naval Engineering Warrant Officer role, as WO1 Willson passed the reins to WO1 Paterson. CNEO Rear Admiral McCarthy was present at Admiralty House to witness the occasion — a proud moment for Royal Navy engineering leadership. ⚓️🔧⚡

@jamierkennedy My favourite quirky thing about that range is that they have the replica green of 17 (on the amateur side) but it’s in the opposite wind direction to the course so you can’t really practice the shot

@rossmacleodputt I have the SKx in the bag, admittedly a small sample size but my SGP has been 0 to +1.4 (vs scratch) in 5 rounds since. Looks really nice over the ball and after making the mistake to move away from SeeMore last season I am so much happier being back to hiding the red dot!

Got some new SeeMore putters in today for my fittings 👀 The brand new SKx and SBx models SeeMore’s “zero torque” offerings. Have to say the heads are actually nice and compact looking. Will be interesting to see how golfers respond to them this year. Let me know if interested in a putter fitting in Helensburgh, Scotland. Odyssey and SeeMore available.

@BallFitting any news on when ball fitting is going to be available outside the US? I feel like I’ve been checking the FAQ for at least 3 years now and it’s still saying the same thing about you expanding in the future, just wondering how long into the future we’re talking 🤷🏻‍♀️

Regardless, that's the story. Apologies for the dozens of retweets over the last few weeks (haha), I promise it's only useless golf stats and Scottish golf courses from here on out! - END -

What’s more important during a driver fitting? I have a guess how this poll will end up, but I’ll hold my opinion for now. Fitters - weigh in with what you think. Consumers - what do you think and what did your fitter tell you?

@cashflowgolfer @engineeringolf Completely agree, find the right shaft and you’re set for life (assuming mechanics/speed are fairly stable) then tweak the head over time to benefit from the technology improvements. I’ve been in the same shaft for almost a decade with 3 heads in that time

The head is super important, but the shaft matters more during the fitting. Here’s the caveat. The shaft once fit is a constant. It has to fit the players delivery, how they load it, what weight matches best for their ability to square the face and produce the most speed with the lowest standard deviation across AoA/path/face angle/dyn loft etc. The head can be changed and adjusted. Loft can go +- 2*, face angle can change, lie angle can change, CG can change, all after the fact.

@engineeringolf I do slightly disagree. I enjoy tinkering (aero engineer here) - and club school has been so interesting! However…I’ve gained so much from working with a coach to guide my development: knowledge from him + work ethic from me = lower handicap (quicker than going solo)

Tinkering with golf equipment goes hand-in-hand with what makes golf so satisfying for certain minds. Individual sport. We are individually responsible for the swing, the gear, and the result. If you’re agonizing over big $ per shot, sure, optimize with a team. I derive more joy improving myself from a 5 to a 0… Than I would having a swing coach, trainer, & fitter take me from 0 to +3. Thank you for sharing this illness with me. 🤝

@4golfonline @ArccosGolf I suspect that all those saying putting have possibly not been on/seen the greens at Saunton. If you’re on the opposite half of the green to the pin on (for example) 10 and 13 a three putt isn’t a bad result!

Let’s talk golf stats, tell me what do you see from my last round of golf. 1. What should I be working on? (I know it’s only 1 round but let’s have some fun) 2. I would say I drive the ball really well in this game why am I still losing to a tour pro? 3. The fairway hit number tell us what? Is this good enough to play the seniors tour?

Progress update – M27 J10 upgrade A new underpass structure is now in place at the M27 J10. Hydraulic equipment was used to slide the 8,500 tonne structure into position in under 20 hours. In the coming days, the embankments and the road surface will be replaced. #M27J10Closure

@engineeringolf I wholeheartedly agree, the workaround I use is that I get a quote for resale of the old head on the new shaft and recoup a bit of money

If I’m buying a new driver the stock shaft+grip are nearly worthless to me. I’m popping it on my shaft. If full price is $620, I’d happily choose $600 for head only. Maybe even $610. Save that crappy shaft. Shipping cost goes down. Everybody wins? What is stopping this?
