Trying to watch #NRLBulldogsPanthers but can't help that my X feed is full of AFL journalists and AFL in general completely discombobulating about Gather rounds, Zero rounds, GWS, Auskick, Swans, Giants, Magic rounds.. maybe PVL wasn't the problem????
English

@rlexpanda @centralNRL 2025 data shows gambling companies spent approximately $150mill across and networks and all sports on advertising.
Its not as much as you think...
English

@centralNRL This was always going to happen. The broadcasters’ revenue takes a hit and it flows into the TV rights. That’s why all the cheering about the new rules from supposed RL fans was so dumb. It’s terrible timing for PVL and co.
English

Concerns are growing over the impact of gambling ad restrictions on the NRL’s future broadcast revenue, with fears it could limit spending power. “There’ll be less ad spots for the broadcasters to sell, meaning there’ll be less advertising revenue… I can’t see the NRL getting close to the current AFL broadcast deal,” Lachlan Gepp said. (Mumbrella)
English

@Sutto2606 @footyindustryAU You got a screenshot of that.
And put it too bed
English

@footyindustryAU A quick count on PlayHQ doesn’t even match his figures.
Over 800 players registered from U13s down to U9s
Last season there was 12k registered across the junior clubs.
Bigger question to ask, as a former Sydney player, why isn’t he doing more to boost the game in NSW?
English

@MPolyalloy @footyindustryAU @LMcKirdy7 @CapitalCityCody Intro classes at schools
They go to schools throughout the year
Learn basic skills about the game
And get a little AFL gift bag.
English

@hinterland33 @footyindustryAU @LMcKirdy7 @CapitalCityCody What is Auskick? Is it competition or intro skills classes?
English

According to the Telegraph last February the Kellyville-Rouse Hil Magpies had 325 across their Auskick and junior teams (up to under-17s) - on their own.

@257Mat @wallybechara @henri_lamer @badel_cmail Suns have not won the GC
There winning a lot and have a great winning record at home
Titans cannot win a game
And still averaged more than the suns in 2025 season
English

@wallybechara @hinterland33 @henri_lamer @badel_cmail Dolphins are on border of Sunshine Coast the 9th largest city/region in Australia & closing in Canberra in 8th. Be interesting if they play games there once Kawana is ready. Lots of talk Brisbane will get 20th AFL side to cash in on Victoria Park. Suns are thriving won GC.

BREAKING: HUGE EXPANSION NEWS
ARL Commission to meet with Queensland Rugby League to discuss a third Brisbane team.
ARLC boss Peter V’landys says fifth Queensland team is real.

@football360au @footyindustryAU Same thing will happen to the Maltidas with no world cup or Asian cup on home soil.. that was massive for soccer and the home team
Once in a lifetime events
The support gathered huge momentum.
English

A pattern has emerged in the crowds for the Socceroos' World Cup farewell matches since 2006.
These numbers are incongruous to the sense of opportunity and thrill the current Australian team provides.
This is the solution: tinyurl.com/3ztc74m3

English

@rlexpanda @TripleM_NRL Its different though
Its like being the 1960's
And the ARL adding in two teams
Panthers (being Ipswich)
Cronulla (being the dolphins)
They are so far apart
English

@TripleM_NRL A third Brisbane team so soon after the second proves the second was a dud call.
But the same Sydney gronks who made it will now make another shit decision, backed by their tame media stooges.
English

There's a lot of noise being made in Queensland and it seems like the NZ dream may be over...

@wallybechara @henri_lamer @257Mat @badel_cmail I have a strong feeling
NRL are looking at 3 things
Population in Brisbane's west
Compared to Christchurch
Tv viewers in QLD
AFL focusing on the Brisbane market
English

@footyindustryAU Wagering companies have historically spent an estimated $120 million to $150 million annually on television advertising
(this sum is too all networks & Sports)
Its a small dent per year to sports
in TV RIGHTS
Advertising can always be replaced
English

Mumbrella: A rights expert says gambling advertising restrictions announced by the Prime Minister last week have shot down any chance of a record broadcast deal for the National Rugby League, as the league’s boss maintains nothing is amiss.

English

@NewyRoosters @footyindustryAU Yep, so anyone with a mobile phone or tablet can have access to NRL
English

@footyindustryAU Didnt PVL say they were gonna look at direct streaming?
English

In January, PNGs NBC (their version of our ABC) did a deal for exclusive live coverage of every Superleague game through to 2028. No amount was released.
The Papua New Guinea Government is considering the National Broadcasting Corporation [NBC] as the primary broadcaster for PNG Chiefs matches when the country enters Australia’s National Rugby League [NRL] competition in 2028, citing NBC’s unmatched national reach and its role in nation-building.

@paulmac_78 Its a great stadium at Robina
Not a bad seat in the house
Looks great when packed 👌
English

@mickmurray23 @footyindustryAU Exactly they paid for GF X3 years and after the boycott the A League gave them unite round
Which was an epic failure
And a huge waste of coin
By NSW government
English

@hinterland33 @footyindustryAU No they didn't, NSW paid for the GF hosting rights and when the A League fans cried about it they backtracked and gave them Unite Round as a substitute. There is no way the govt will spend a cent on this
English

This is nonsense.
7AFL@7AFL
A Sydney-based AFLW Gather Round is in the works, per Caroline Wilson 👀
English

@henri_lamer @LeagueUnlimited @HaydenMenso the prob is>> even if it a QLD side..
Gold Coast to Townsville 1400km away
Broncos draw big because they have a big following and were before all QLD sides.
Dolphins do not draw away fans either.
English

@LeagueUnlimited @HaydenMenso I’m comparing a Queensland side with a Melbourne side.
English

@BHolloway4 @WSWanderingEels its perfect timing for PVL & the Commission
that is a terrific figure for a QLD Derby Game
English

@WSWanderingEels This has been a crazy shift this year. Started in last years finals. Always been neck and neck usually, this year has been complete domination by the nrl.
English

Friday
#NRL
Nine Broncos/Dolphins 714k
#AFL
Seven Pies/GWS 590k
Chalk up another win to the NRL. 😉
virtualoz.com.au/report/total-t…
English

@hinterland33 @BHolloway4 @user26194736 @dferg1412 Only thing you can do is offer seat resale programs but that has limited take up and you can't force it.
English

Offical crowd 45,882 #NRLBroncosDolphins @LeagueUnlimited
English

@BHolloway4 @user26194736 @dferg1412 @LeagueUnlimited Yep spot on.
Its got to change though
Its stupid.
Broncos ceo was talking about
Trying to make changes to suncorp stadium management ticketing allocation
English

@hinterland33 @user26194736 @dferg1412 @LeagueUnlimited Yep, the main reason it seems nearly all broncos sell out games are capped at around 46,000. Finals a different story as all seats are up for grabs
