@MikeScherr1 @MCCCANM there's such a thing called aerodynamic stress. the faster you go, the thicker the air gets and therefore more stress on the airframe. eventually the metal fails and it's a one way trip to terra firma. military aircraft are designed trans and supersonic speeds but still limited

Blue Origin’s pad is still burning. The Horizontal Integration Facility (HIF) building was significantly impacted. It likely held two second stages, and at one other first stage booster. The cast iron Cape Canaveral Lighthouse ( c.1868), which is VERY close, is still active!

I was excited to see Blue Origin return to flight, but this is a lot worse than the second stage failure, there's towers from the pad visibly missing.
