As we continue celebrating the leaders who show up for our communities when it matters most, we were proud to honor @chefjoseandres with the Humanitarian Award at #HFGala2026. From Puerto Rico after Hurricane María to communities impacted by disasters and wars around the world, José Andrés has consistently led with action, reminding us that food is not just for nourishment, but it is about building community. Through @WCKitchen, he has transformed the act of cooking into a global movement rooted in compassion, urgency, and care. Yesterday we celebrated an “idea that refuses to retreat, an idea that chooses hope over fear, an idea that believes justice is not optional, it is essential.” #HFGala2026 brought together the people, the energy, and the commitment needed to keep pushing our community forward. The Hispanic Federation supports hundreds of community-based organizations across our City — tackling everything from immigrant rights and disaster relief to health equity and access to education. It was an honor to join their fundraising gala last night at the @AMNH. While no community has been spared from our nation’s affordability crisis, 77.6% of Latino New Yorkers are struggling to afford the true cost of living in NYC — an unacceptable disparity compared to other groups. That’s why Latino families are at the heart of our affordability agenda, and why we’re proud to support @HispanicFed’s vital work.

Last night, Hispanic Federation brought together leaders, artists, advocates, and champions of our community for an unforgettable evening at our Annual Gala at the iconic @AMNH. Because of your support, we celebrated a powerful night of impact, raising over $3 Million in critical funds to continue delivering for the communities we serve and advancing the causes that matter most to Latinos across the country. Last Friday, Hispanic Federation organized a luncheon with @GovKathyHochul where Latino leaders discussed the issues that matter the most to people across New York. Together, our network of Latino nonprofit leaders discussed the ways that our work builds trust across the state and advances policies that safeguard and empower our communities.

For over a decade, @Lin_Manuel has brought his heart, his voice and his family’s legacy to Hispanic Federation’s Annual Gala – and this year is no different. As Gala Chair, Lin-Manuel has used his platform to uplift Latino communities and champion the stories, culture, and resilience that define our mission.
