We were in ABIM - KARAMOJA with the revolutionary message today. Our people braved all manner of intimidation and regime antics to give us a resounding reception. Close to 50 boda-boda riders were arrested and their motorcycles confiscated because they were mobilising to receive us. The police claimed that they were enforcing traffic regulations because they were not wearing helmets!!The lack of shame! Anyway, our people still defied the intimidation and showed up. Our message to the people here was simple: Karamoja is one of the richest regions in Uganda and yet its people are the poorest in Uganda! To end that, we must put an end to an exploitative regime.

Earlier today with the committee on natural resources, we inspected the ERT III project in Gomba (Kanoni-Mpenja,Kanoni-Mamba landing site,Kanoni-Mwese).
Rural electrification is profound and we have to ensure that this extends to all areas across the country as an enabler for development especially in the mining sector.
The committee will then proceed to visit the mining sites in Mitooma, Ntungamo and Mubende.

Today we spent the day in Aleker Subcounty, Abim District to ascertain the gold rush situation that has been experienced in the area of Okemer since 23.03.2024.
With the growing uncontrollable numbers of thousands of miners from all over, we have reached out to ensure the local community is well organised into a formal association of artisan miners with a licence.
We shall offer all the support needed to ensure Kakoka artisan miners benefit from the existence of gold in their area as we look out for mineral development that promotes responsible sustainable mining cognisant of the fact that minerals are a finite resource if not managed wisely can result into environmental, social and security problems.
We thank the Abim community for the consensus to work with the Ministry and we urge all Ugandans to collaborate with govt in handling any natural resource.

@drkasenene For the first time this month I disregard your advise

Life advice
1. Get married as early as you can. From about 22 years.
2. Love shouldn't be at the top of your list when seeking a spouse. First is someone simple & understanding, then someone with similar values & beliefs. Love is #3
3. Have at least 4 - 5 children if possible.

@drkasenene And now again we have yellow fever Nationwide vaccination... Eh
English

Most people don’t have any problem with the principle of vaccination.
They just don’t trust the process around vaccination and don’t believe the motives around vaccination are for their benefit.
Look at COVID-19 vaccines. People were told they were safe and effective. But that turned out not to be true. And there is never any accountability when things don’t go as said. And no recourse to help if they get any serious adverse effects.
Meanwhile the pharmaceuticals that make them are making record breaking profits sometimes at the expense of the common man.
Trust has to be restored otherwise it will only get worse and you can’t blame people.
Even I am skeptical about the need for all these vaccinations. So what about the common person?
