@VanityFair That's a good idea, Coach!
How about we apply this logic to all the southern states that are rolling back Black voting rights?
All five star players should transfer to the Big Ten.
In explaining his decision to leave Ole Miss for LSU, Lane Kiffin seems willing to invoke Ole Miss's struggle to distance itself from symbols like the Confederate flag, Colonel Rebel, and the nickname "Ole Miss" itself.
When he was coaching there, Kiffin says, top recruits would tell him, “‘Hey, coach, we really like you. But my grandparents aren’t letting me move to Oxford, Mississippi.’ That doesn’t come up when you say Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Parents were sitting here this weekend saying the campus’s diversity feels so great: ‘It feels like there’s no segregation’” vanityfair.com/news/story/lan…
@VanityFair Die hard LSU fan,but Vanity Fair ,like many liberal New York media outlets, cannot resist taing a shot at stuff that happened before JFK was killed in 1963,Unwarranted cheap shot.
@Robot73I@ru23052@hkb73 No, they cannot. The city of Memphis was purposely and irregularly divided and placed inside three white majority districts to prevent that from happening.
The "racist" districting continues, and it is effectively no different than it was during the Jim Crow era.
@hoos30@ru23052@hkb73 Narrator: They can *STILL* choose their own reps as they always have. Govt can no longer create racist districts (IE: districts carved out for Blacks).
The woman laughing as people of color fought to not have their representation taken away in Tennessee is state Rep. Debra Moody — described as a “Christian” mother of four. Except…she wants the South to rise again.
@ru23052@hkb73 The purpose of the VRA was to give communities the opportunity to choose their own representation
The TN legislature took that right away from them. They don't care if the person being forced on them is white, black, or purple
And don't pretend you wouldn't be equally upset
@hkb73 Nobody has taken from Tennesseans the right to vote.
And the most likely outcome of this redistricting is that a black American (republican) woman replaces an old white guy (democrat) in Congress.
So, more not less minority representation in Congress.
@chrismckeever@NikkiFried It's not true for "many groups" because only one group has a history oppressing and suppressing the rights of others on a systematic scale.
And these states just proved they haven't changed that behavior.
@NikkiFried Good Lord you people are so petty and can’t help but make your approval problem WORSE. 🙄
If special representation needs to be made for one group, how is it not true for many groups. The VRA doesn’t allow districts based on race. Are you against the VRA?
@NikkiFried The pigs are squealing on this one! Let's you know this would hurt the "SEC States" hard.
I'm sure the Big Ten won't mind taking a few 5⭐s off their hands.
@RonaldVolusus@NikkiFried Two of those New England states only has one Congressional District. Another has only two.
There used to be Republicans in NE but their policies became unpopular and the lost their elections.
If Black voters and Black voices aren’t considered meaningful enough to fairly represent the South, then maybe we should reconsider representing the South on the football field and basketball court too.
.@SEC , don’t stay silent in the face of Jim Crow 2.0. Because once you open Pandora’s box, all kinds of things come out of it.
Or maybe it’s just time for our children and these young brothers and sisters to find new playing fields that actually respect their humanity, their voices, and their value.
@GavinNewsom@GovPritzker@SpanbergerForVA@iamwesmoore@JoshShapiroPA@GovWhitmer I’m sure y’all can find some scholarship $ for these talented young folks right?!
Evangelical Christian leaders literally gathering around a gold statue of the president and celebrating it, all while raging against any accusation of idolatry.
This is what idol worship looks like.
"may alter the future of the Force itself" ???
Kenobi to Luke: "The force is an energy field generated by ALL living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the universe together."
So how are they going to alter the force when it is generated by "ALL LIVING THINGS?"
Let me guess, they are trying to retcon The Force so they can do what they want with it.
They already tried that with Luke in The Last Jedi. How can DIE from using The Force when it's created by all living things.
and like Yoda said "Luminous beings are we. Not this crude matter," as the grabbed Lukes flesh.
The Filoniverse is going to be trash.
A new plot synopsis of STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER has been revealed
“In a rebuilding galaxy, a solitary pilot becomes entangled in a crucial mission as new threats emerge. Their journey may alter the future of the Force itself.”

JUST IN: Republican lawmakers in Tennessee approved a new House map that could help Republicans flip the state's only Democratic seat.
The new map would break up the state's only majority-Black district in Memphis. abcnews.link/Nf2z7ZR
