JUST FILED a lawsuit on behalf of my client Jonathan Howard, a former officer in the Florida State Guard, who discovered massive fraud, waste, and abuse of state funds within the leadership of the Florida State Guard. After learning of the fraud, Howard made a whistle blower complaint, bringing public attention to the fraud, waste, and abuse, while awaiting state authorities to intervene. In response, the leadership of the Florida State Guard unlawfully and punitively demoted Howard in an effort to silence him. Howard now files this complaint for First Amendment Retaliation and for violation of Florida’s Public Whistleblower Act, § 112.3187, Fla. Stat.

No , an RFP is open to any business wanting to bid, very stringent guidelines, you have to meet requirements, proper licensing, you have to work within City, County, State, or Federal requirements. In example I did one for MacDill AFB probably the hardest one. So competitive bids are what makes the world go round ! If a company wants the business & qualify( meaning they have resources to complete the task)they can bid !

Also, I’m sure you are familiar with an RFP- •Initial Contract (2022): The Florida Governor’s office awarded OBR a $4.57 million contract on October 14, 2022, following Hurricane Ian. This contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process managed by the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

This afternoon I spent some time over at Parkesdale Farms in Dover to discuss the impacts of the recent cold snap on our farming community. Food security is national security. As a state, we have a duty look out for those who do the work to put food on the table and assist them in hardening their crops for when disaster strikes. I’m grateful to the Parke family for showing me around today and for all of our farmers who are putting in long hours to combat this recent weather and protect our food supply.
