@ambleforth @Peston @bbclaurak No it's not... A fall in the price of govt debt is by definition a rise in the yield on Gilts...which is not the same as interest rates, assuming we mean BoE base rate, mortgage rates etc.

The prime minister saying a fall in the price of government debt is not the same as a rise in interest rates is bizarre. It is by definition a rise in interest rates. On @bbclaurak

Utterly heartbroken. For over 14 years you were always there for me. You were my best friend and I wish I could tell you how much you’ll be missed. Goodnight Phoebe X

@mrmarkdolan With the vast majority of the population vaccinated isn't it logical and totally expected that the majority of current infections will be in the vaccinated . Or am I being totally naive 🤔

@mrjamesob your producer cut me off. But I was calling to advise that Sian Beilock is the pre-eminent researcher in the area of maths anxiety and maths achievement. I’m not aware that she’s ever mentioned biology being a factor.

@MatthewStadlen I got it this week for this first time. The morning of a planned flight for my first holiday in 3 years. Triple jabbed. Horrible symptoms. I sense complacency in society.

Anecdotally, Covid seems to be catching up with those who had managed to escape it throughout?

@AO_sportpsych @dickiebush Luck is considered to be randomness and unpredictability according to scholars in this field.

@hpsperform @dickiebush luck is based on the level of "self awareness", self efficacy, self confidence, decision making, timing, belief, trust and right time, as well risk taking, if one is risk averse, then you are screwed or indeed will not have luck, if this is what semantically one defines luck.

@gbkburgers 45mins calling your Wimbledon store to place an order. No answer. I travel to the restaurant to order and discover phone was on silent.

Michael Fabricant talking to @ShelaghFogarty on @LBC, defending BJ on the basis that the party constituted ‘closed mixing’ appears to be demonstrating world class cognitive dissonance.

In 11 years on @LBC I have never publicly called out a fellow presenter. But I can't stand by while this sort of irresponsible and dangerous propaganda is spread by someone who ought to know better. Shame on you, Maajid. Shame. On. You. Boosters Save Lives. Scientific Fact.

@ktebailey @SholaMos1 @IainDale @LBC I used to enjoy listening to him until he turned into a bit of crank regarding 2020 US election & then regarding COVID.

Strong job by @amolrajan interviewing Dominic Raab @BBCr4today keeping him focused on the question and showing the right level of incredulity at evasive answers. Excellent

@amolrajan brilliant interview with Raab this morning. I laughed out loud when you said “all that went through your mind” in response to his answer to your first question.

@dgurdasani1 I caught a little of your interview on @DavidLammy show where I think you argued that evidence supports efficacy of mask wearing. @MaajidNawaz argued the opposite in the previous show. Please can you point me in the direction of research I can read?

@Neuro_Skeptic I think would help if you define your terms. Especially talent. I suspect you conceptualise talent as innate gifts. But talent researchers don’t all see it that way - many see talent as a process.

All success is a combination of talent, hard work, and luck. But having the dedication to work hard is a form of talent, and being born with talent is just luck.
