My biggest takeaway from The Odyssey isn’t anything about The Odyssey itself. It’s the horror movie trailer that they showed right before for ‘Other Mommy’ that won’t allow me to sleep for the foreseeable future

I’m so confused about this romcom trailer I keep seeing before movies that is apparently set in a world where sex is illegal except for one day a year like it’s the fucking Purge for boners…but they barely mention it once in the trailer and it looks like a normal ass romcom?

@Trunkit_ @Hexaterminal @JAIL_FACELMAO you won't see barriers in normal gameplay, neither would you see them when its in use somewhere. you holding the block triggers the entities to show up. go to a creative world, spawn a bunch of them and switch between triggering them and not, check your fps and you will see.

speaking of, is there anything wrong with Modrinth? there must be something!
i had a 10+ year break from minecraft and had to relearn how to manage a modded client last year, which is when i found Modrinth. it's so good????? clean, pretty, fast, stable, no bullshit!
very open, has APIs for pretty much anything (you can fetch their daily ad revenue with it!) . works on windows, linux, macOS. comes in nixpkgs.
i submitted some mods and they scanned them automatically + reviewed manually before publishing (hey vscode marketplace whats up??)
why? what's the catch? a commercial software product like this is not possible in 2026. is there some secret sauce that makes your product immune to bullshit? trans women on the team?

@meowkoteeq there are alternatives! but unfortunately people are used to ftb quests

@meowkoteeq the main reason people don't use it is because the FTB team doesn't allow their mods to be rehosted there - the big one is FTB Quests (which every high quality modpack uses) and since the VAST majority of people only play modpacks it means people end up using the curse launcher
